OK, just thought I would bung down some brief thought on the pre season so far:
Transfers - The recruitment has been top class. There has obviously been a strategy and it has been adhered to pretty well. Some we know are good EPL players others we will have to wait and see who can crack it. Not all will but you have to back your judgement and the recruitment team did well in January so I trust them to get more right than wrong.
Friendlies so far - The first few were just to get the squad playing games and getting used to how SC wants them to play. The one against Hertha was more meaningful with SC indicating how his team might look when wwe go to Newcastle. The starting eleven played very well in a 'competitive' match. Henderson, Williams, Niakahte, and Taylor caught the eye.
Lingard - What a bombshell. It's a win/win for me. Talksport can't stop talking about it lots of other teams fans getting a bit salty. WHU not happy. Wait til they have to send us a cheque for our 'sell on' fee part of the deal for Brereton Diaz.
Today's game v Union - 4:00 kick off. Live on Forest TV, £5.
I expect SC will take a similar approach to Wednesday's game. MBS may come in for Joe Worrall; LOB in for Colback; Mighten in for Johnson. Hope Awoniyi opens his account against his old team.

There's an old saying money doesn't bring happiness and that's sure true about the Prem'! Far more salty moaning minnies here than in the Champ'.
Super Cooper is obviously looking for a buyer for Lyle Taylor.
Why, because he's touting him to all potential suitors rather like desperate mother of a plain debutante at the end of the season.
Can this guy who has hardly scored a meaningful goal in anger for the club really be on £35K as has been claimed?
Hopefully tonight Coops will play something akin to his starting eleven at least for half a game. I expect Lingard to play for 45 minutes, so this game will be worth watching!

Not a great first half it has to be said. Union came out of the blocks the quicker and more determined and Forest never really got into it.
Taylor and Taylor up front, MBS and Niakahte at the back please
The goal came on about 35 minutes as I was struggling to stay awake. A very good crowd inside the stadium, noisy. Maybe a hundred or so Forest fans in one corner not having a lot to cheer about. Williams doing OK, Toffolo having a better game than in midweek. the back three just going across the pitch really. Need Niakahte on to bring the ball out from the back. Mighten and Johnson trying hard, but worryingly Ayowinyi again ineffective.

Well that was a pretty forgettable 90 mins, even for a pre season it was poor. I understand you can’t read too much into these games but i would have expected a little more cohesion, but hopefully that will come when the likes if Jesse Lingard start to get some game time. We definitely need another striker, at the very least imo, though Lyle does look up to speed but I’m not sure Cooperman has that much faith in him. Put that one down to another poor day at the office and move on.

Hope we get Garner and Kenian Davis back.
Had some reservations about Taiwo Awoniyi after watching his goals compilation on YouTube - let's hope he comes good otherwise he will be off on loan to Olympiacos.

What Davis did and brought to the team last season was sorely missed here - we really need someone who can hold the ball up
