Arsenal 4 Chelsea 0

If the spine ( Saliba, Partey, Odegaard and Jesus) that played today are fit and available for most of the season, top four is achievable.

Special mention to Zinchenko who trained for just a day yet slotted seamlessly at LB as if he has been at Arsenal all his life.

Why spend all that money on a player proven in completely different positions to play a specialist role in the team. Why not convert Holding or Leno into a DM and make some use of them?

Sambi been playing more as one of the interior midfielders, not the DM. I'm still very concerned if anything happens to partey (and let's be real, it will).

You do know probably the greatest holding midfield players were originally box to box players? Jean Tigana, Lothar Matthaus etc. It was considered a step down for centre midfield players to play DM because they didn't have the legs to cover the entire midfield. Even recently the specialists are limited midfield players. For example Makelele was criticised his entire career for not being able to pass the ball. Petit didn't have the pace to cover and Gilberto was called the 'invisible' wall for a reason.

Why would you be critical for having Zinchenko who can do more because he can actually contribute to attack as well and if needed cover Partey?

I still think Zinchenko/Partey as a pairing is more likely in a counter attack formation with Tierney/Cedric as full backs.

What we lack is someone who can press further forward from centre areas. Which is the reason why I believe we are still targeting Tielemans.

It was sensational in the first half. Pure quality. Yes, it was a friendly but we are 2 week before the PL starts again. I am sure Chelsea didnt expect it.

Ffs stop comparing our players to all these greats. Zinchenko is naturally a 10, not a box to box midfielder. None of his attributes suggest he can play a holding role. He does not have the engine or physicality of Partey. I can bet you any money he won’t play a single game in that position this season.

A natural no. 10 who plays left back?

He plays full back for City for years, successfully, so obviously has attributes for that. And for Ukraine he plays in CM.

Not sure what other attributes you need for holding midfield.

And of course he doesn't have the physicality of Partey. But very few players do. We are talking about filling in for him. Not replacing him.

“I know the player really well, he's an exceptional footballer and he is someone that is going to bring as well another competitive edge to that dressing room.

“He can play in both defence and midfield. He was a natural No10 early in his career and we converted him into a left-back which can do a lot of things that we want in our way of playing.

“That versatility is something that is going to be important for the team because we have players in that position who are more specific full-backs, so I'm really happy."

Even Titler says he is a natural number 10

Not a natural player if he didn't end up there.

Any what we arguing about? Partey's backup?

Seriously, much rather concern myself on replacing Xhaka.
