In is own mind I suspect that Ronny thought the regular suspects would be queuing up for him and I don't think he cares much anymore which clubs comes knocking.

Ronaldo probably only cares about 3 things these days. Himself, playing in the Champions League and money. I suspect his interest in the last one might have to wane a little to make the first two happen for him, next season. I really can't see him being happy at United still getting his 500K+ a week (or whatever it is), playing in the Ropey with the likes of his mate, Maguire. Just think what ETH could do if we were free of those wages.

I know, I guess that just shows you the kind of man Ronaldo is. Not that that’s bad necessarily, it’s his choice.

I saw a good quote about him lately. He plays for the back of the shirt and not the front of it and previously he was so good that it helped the team but not anymore.

Some of our fans forget we only had a few really good years with him. His GOAT years were at Real.

Players don’t just gamble on bids being received. Especially 1 so commercially valuable.

He will have had offers. It’s just maybe United haven’t accepted bids.

Or those that want him are happy for a United to pick up his mega wages during pre season.

Messi is 16 goals behind Ronaldo in the CL scoring charts. That is literally the only thing Ronaldo is thinking about. Let's say Messi gets 8 goals in the CL this season and still has a couple more seasons on Ronaldo. When the only thing on your mind is CL goals, you can't have a season not in the CL. He will be playing in the CL until no CL team will take him.

I think that's quite close to what will start. As mentioned, hopefully not McT but Christian instead.

I imagine the Atletico fans' stance is at least in part informed by his association with their hated cross-city rivals. He made them suffer on many occasions.

Depending how Martinez adapts in the next week and a half of training I think the OP is pretty much spot on.
