I think it's also worth pointing out that they contribute a lot more than they cost the taxpayer plus both the queen and prince charles have both voluntarily paid tax either in the form of CGT or income tax since the early nineties.

Imagine with all the leaps forward humanity has taken forward over the centuries that some people would still want to be ruled by a family that is considered to be superior by birth and bloodline.

We are not ruled by the Royal Family. They are a figurehead. Nothing more.

And more than their fair share of d!ckheads

Funny that Two Balls, One Saka has disappeared rather than answer my question.

I think a lot of people, you included, have an idealistic view of the idea of a presidency in this country. The stark reality however is, based on the recent political climate that we'd end up with Farage, Johnson or someone of that ilk as president.

Is that really what you want ahead of the monarchy?

They've both been here longer than the early '90's'. What changed?

Hever Castle along with a multitude of previous 'Royal' residencies all over our green and pleasant land survive despite the 'Royals' never being present.

The 'Royals' add nothing to our economy. Our history as a country does far more.

Other than being a figurehead, what does the Queen (royalty) do to improve your life that you couldn't do better?

There's been so many comments I couldn't be bothered

I guess put simply I don't see any benefit in them and lots of negatives. The fact we have an awful government ruining the country is true with or without the royals and they're largely completely separate subjects imo.

Yes we would want a better president than the utter slime we've had lately. But having a nonce enabler born into being head of state brought out for ceremonial purposes is part of a sideshow I personally find embarrassing

I have literally never once said that it affects my life in any way shape or form either positively or negatively.

Where I've said (countless times) the benefit lies is our standing abroad. As a country my opinion (not fact) is that we remain a lot more respected with a stable figurehead than we would if we had Boris Johnson as our head of state for example.

I just can't see any benefit at all to having a president, aside from them being elected but frankly so what? What are the tangible benefits it would bring?
