What is the current situation?

So Rodgers is suddenly being very vocal with his excuses for next year, and I for one don’t like the way he’s talking.

The squad is young. The squad is inexperienced. The squad needs improving. We have to balance the books. We can’t afford to buy. We have to accept we can’t compete. Sorry lads, you’re not good enough.

Ok, I made those last two up but they are the undertones of what I’m hearing from him and I think that’s what the players are hearing too. Is that really going to motivate this squad for the season? Will it get the best out it’ll them? If we genuinely aren’t able to refresh the squad, how on earth is speaking like this going to help??

The lack of Europe next season has clearly been a kicker in our finances and it seems we’re in an absolutely critical moment of needing to keep our current squad motivated whilst we’re able to offload some players that haven’t worked out, well others and try to rebuild.

You know what, I’d rather we did that without Rodgers now. I don’t like the way he’s talking. I think he’s covering himself rather than having the best interests of the club at heart. Even if he doesn’t know he’s doing that, it’s certainly what I’m hearing very loudly.

The start to this season could be hugely critical to maintaining the progress we’ve made over the last 10 years. Start badly and I can’t help but feel that Rodger will have brought that on himself. I hope I’m wrong, I hope he has this squad motivated. I have my doubts and concerns.

If clubs "settle" it only perpetuates the need for a European super league which would be terrible for the game in this country as a whole. The money is already a problem due to clubs prioritising staying in the top league over trying to win domestic cups.

Been a Leicester fan for around fifty years and seen it all and always will be whatever happens. Have to agree that maybe our owners are not as committed as they where, even heard a rumour they might consider selling.
However, I am becoming totally bored with the premier league and the media bias towards it and certain teams in particular. The football season started last weekend but you wouldn’t know it from the limited coverage.
Just hope there is a team out there that can do “a Leicester” and upset the apple cart again because I don’t think we will again.

I have some concerns due to the lack of transfer movement when we could do with some additions, I suspect we may try for somebody if Tilly leaves.

On the plus side, despite all the froth, we haven't lost anybody yet. If that remains the case then I'd be hopeful that we can get at least a similar position to last year. Yes there may be more competition, certainly in the form of Newcastle, but they have a manager whose experience is with teams towards the bottom of the Division - it remains to be seen if he can build a squad which will compete for a European spot. Also, although we are not in Europe this year, this does have the benefit of not having to play so many games.

It will be interesting to see how the league plays out this season.

Newcastle have put in 2 offers for Maddison and i think he will go. Do not be supprised if Howe makes a poor start and Rogers packs his bags and gets a taxi to Tyneside.

Yes likely. And then moan that despite spending the most ever by a football club in history he didn’t have enough say over the players brought in when he doesn’t get the best out of Mbappe, Haaland, Van Dijk and Youri Tielemans.

Howe is a Great Manager, Newcastle might go for a 'Big Name' but I doubt Howe will 'Fail'

I don't count Rodgers a Big Name Manager as Brilliant as he is.

Howe has steadied the ship but is unproven in qualifying for Europe, surely NUFCs next aim. BR has been there and is wearing the t-shirt. I doubt he has any qualms about taking the Rihal.
