A lot got lumped into the 'Britpop' crowd when they weren't. It was a convenient label I suppose to get them on compilation albums!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
true but bands like Placebo and Skunk, tried to distance themselves from that movement.

Placebo were a glam rock band. SKunk was hard rock bordering on metal. Both toured with the harder rock/metal genre at the time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were there any that would be classed as Boy Bands in that era?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
hard to say did any of the bands write songs for 14 yr old girls ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lost Prophets
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's an idea for your next sharticle.... Top 10 nonce bands/acts

There'd be quite a few big names on that list. Not least one of the most amazing stories of all, which is out in the open, about Steven Tyler becoming the legal guardian for a 16yo groupie and then getting her pregnant!

I’ve heard some dodgy stories about led zeppelin when they took over a floor in some hotel in LA. Full of dangerously young teens

Think it was pretty rampant and almost accepted back then, Jim Morrison I think also had some pretty young groupies about. I’m sure a lot of bands did.

Bill Wyman of the stones too.

I went to a book signing to get him to sign a present for my old man... He was a right dicckk, so after he signed it, still amongst a big line of people... I gave him a beaming smile and said "Oh, by the way Bill, which chapter do you start banging your 13 year old girlfriend?".

Got chucked out of waterstones

The entire Oasis catalogue and you’ve gone with a throwaway, jokey song?! You could have had Slide Away, Live Forever, Acquiesce, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Supersonic but you’ve gone with SHE’S ELECTRIC?! 😂
