All comfortable on the ball. All students of the Ajax system. Martinez has played games at DM too in his career all told.
I fail to see how that could do worse than Fred Mctominay and Bruno. Pains me to say it as a Bruno fan too but my word that guy was awful today and has been for a year now. He's totally fallen away.
I know it won't happen but I'd love to see those three in midfield next weekend at Brentford. It would be absolute madness to go with same CM again. Those two lads just aren't good enough.
Martinez, Donny & Eriksen Midfield 3?

As bad as our midfield is our right back position is a huge issue. Dalot is shocking and knowing that AWB is on the bench is hardly any upgrade

Yep. But this is something that was evident last season. And the season before. So I'm not really sure why it hasn't been addressed.
There are so many easily identifiable and horrific weaknesses in this squad. A few signings and tweaks are not even scratching the surface, unfortunately. We've been in transition for 10 years now. And we won't be moving out of transition any time soon if we continue to operate in this manner

You'd like to think that this defeat and more importantly, the performance, has been an eye opener. It may make us more active in addressing these stark issues than we otherwise may have been.
That in itself suggests panic but this is where we are. The squad is really mediocre and ETH (and any manager for that matter) won't be able to get much out of them as things stand.

Darren, at least ETH’s soon to be replacement - Graham Potter - looks good 😂

He’ll be next England manager I reckon.

He was really poor today.

I see we're starting to be pretty heavily linked with Gakpo from PSV. Could just be lazy journalism, due to him playing in the Netherlands. But does anybody know much about him as a player. His stats are pretty pressure on whoscored, for what it's worth

Any manager must be stark raving mad to take this job. It's simply the impossible job. Fans expectations are rightly high and yet they have to work with The Glazers and their stooges who haven't got a clue what they are doing.
Erik was the one I wanted but my word he's really going to have to pull up some trees to make it a successful appointment. Already looking like a miracle required given how poor the squad is.
