Evening all
Despite usually having my nose in a fresh book every fortnight or so, I have never been of the autobiographical persuasion.
That all changed when I was running out of podcasts to listen to on my long, weekend walks (starting to sound like a right laugh, aren’t I?) and returned to the much maligned Audible to enjoy a few United-based autobiographies (Keane, Nev, Fergie). I say “much maligned" because I really can’t connect with it when it comes to fictional novels; like when you re-read a paragraph a couple of times to really soak it in or because you’re skimming - that just isn’t there with audiobooks.
Similarly, I think your experience with the book in question really, really depends on the narrator. For example, the guy that does Neville’s clearly isn’t a football fan (something you’d have thought would’ve been prerequisite), not least given away by the fact he pronounces “Bayern" as “bye-yan", a word used a few dozen times!!
Anyway, despite my gripes, I reckon Audible does work quite well for autobiographies and was wondering if anyone had any for football-based recommendations?
Doesn’t necessarily have to be on Audible, would still like to give them a go. Equally, doesn’t have to be United-related (though it helps )

Calcio by John Foot
Possibly the best footy book I've read. Basically lifts the lid off Italian football which I used to have a minimal interest in.
Short, readable chapters full of humour, corruption and blackmail.

Want to read rashford’s, but until culer does his review, won’t know if it’s any good. I think he’s reading it 1 letter a day, so hopefully any day soon he’ll do the review he promised.
