If we loan out Jones how do we meet the European quota of 4 HG players trained at the club?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well we've just lost a Senegalese, Belgian and Japanese player from our squad, giving us 14 rather than 17 non home grown players, and brought in a Uruguayan and two home grown players.

Ramsey and Carvalho too young to count although Ramsey won't class as home grown.

So space for another midfielder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poorly worded, sorry.

We brought in two players that don't occupy non-home grown slots, not two home grown players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You need 4 players trained at the club regardless (unless you want a smaller squad which seems to be the complaint).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've got space for 2 more non-home grown players in the squad.

We've got Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, James Milner and Nat Phillips as home grown players as it stands.

Again, the club were all in on Tchouameni, so there's clearly space for another non-HG player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which is fine but doesn't actually answer my question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahh I see your point, you're referring to our European, not PL squad, gotcha. Missed that in your initial question.

We do have room, and personally I would like one more in, but I am happy to wait for the right player (or two).

We do more business than most in January so maybe they will look at it then, but with any luck there will be a bit of a transfer merry go round towards the end of the window.

More news about Barca being absolutely in the sh!t today for fiddling their figures. Might be worth going back and having a go for Gavi if they are that desperate.

European squad can be tinkered so if for example Ox ain't going to be ready then you can take him out and add a homegrown youth player.

Bit of a none issue pointed out by the timewaster Robbing. Nothing new there.

On one hand Barca are getting in trouble for fiddling their figures, on the same day they are wrapping up a £50m deal for Bernardo Silva.

Absolute joke of a club and players are stupid enough to sign for them.

Absolutely bizarre innit. Not sure how that is all going to work for them.

We brought Elliot into the squad to fill Wij's place.

Until Ox leaves it is what it is. In hindsight we should not have renewed his contract but that's always 20/20 innit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn’t even need hindsight. I couldn’t believe you signed him in the first place, but to renew his contract was daft. Contract issues are probably one of the few areas where Liverpool aren’t the best.

Ox is the biggest waste pf space ever. He came to us with an awful injury reputation and has continued the same.with us
