Yet another player missed with Kalimuendo about to sign for Rennes as Leeds outpriced at 25m Euros. Leeds only went for 20 according to reports. Running out of time and smoke bombs as options for a striker are starting to look slim as we also still need a left back which is arguably more important and will take time to do. Fanbase seems pretty split in regards to whether we need another striker, with the majority seemingly thinking we do need one. For me though, starting to think the club will stick with Rodrigo at Geldhart now as we've missed out on all of our forward targets. With Sinisterra bidding for Aaronson's wide spot, Aaronson could take the 10 freeing up Rodrigo to battle Bamford for the CF spot.
Either that or we get Che Adams as he's the only striker we're now linked to, though he's being touted by Everton also.

Read the other day (Beren Cross or Hay, I forget),
that the club had cooled on Kalimeundo (sp?).
Not sure why. Might be why they got outbid.
Agree that we need another striker. But for me
we need another left back that can defend and
keep Firpo on the bench. Unless Firpo has
suddenly discovered how to defend.

Absolutely convinced all of these striker stories are pure fantasy and a smokescreen to keep the fans moderately happy that the club are trying to do something.
The more early points we pick up the chances are we will gamble on being able to make 17th or higher without any further signings.
Net spend £0. Profit being made, but where is all the money going?

Rodrigo can play up front, so no big deal for me. Paying 23m for a bench warmer basically, Bamford always starts if fit.
Left back is so important, we always struggle for a decent one.

After the nightmare of last season, it would be unwise to judge a player on just last season. Football is a team game so he might perform better in the new team. Last season the usual suspects were down on Rodrigo. Bamford might be best subbed after 60 minutes to pose a differnt challenge to the opposition. There are five subsitutes allowed now. That is what they pay the headcoach the money.. Does anyone know when subs were introduced?
