Not going to write another De Jong article but apparently a few sources saying we'll try and push hard this next week and provide the best financial deal for Barca and player. Ten Hag could even go to meet him. It's said that hopefully it'll be sorted by Liverpool.

Now, I may be a cynic here but it would be quite convenient to bring on a major new transfer before the game that protests are due to take place...

Oh we will. Alex McCarthy being presented on the pitch before kick off will be a thing of rare beauty!

Don't think it would make a difference if we brought in a dozen between now and then

Last weekend, the transfer window typified by the Arnautovic stuff, has pretty much destroyed any new season optimism or patience with Murtough/Arnold

There will be protests all year

The narrative would shift though. Look at these entitled fans protesting after buying a £70m player...

That's what people would be saying.

I don't think so... We've had quite a lot of journos and broadcasters hitting out at the owners over the last week or so. It's not just fans.

I think it'll take much more than a signing to change the current narrative

It's definitely the narrative the journos close to the club would push but I really do hope the pressure remains on the Glazers. Even if it's just to improve things whilst they're at the club.

Well, I certainly hope so.

What I’d like to see, though, is 100% of the protesting directed solely and unambiguously at the ownership, and 0% directed at the manager and players.

Booing should be going on before games, and outside the stadium; and not at half time and full time.

What if the fans chanted “fuccck off Glazers” for 90 minutes?

Rosso, I only got back from holidays last week and have not really followed any of the preseason, so I honestly don't know much about how things have been shaping up for the season.

Yeah, I'll post anything of interest I might happen across, but I don't know when I'll be able to take a look.
