Match Day 2 -United still the biggest story

To be fair Liverpool are still yet to play but United will still dominate the back pages. Early days in Erik ten Hag's tenure but it was always going to be hard and its even harder when the people above you are clueless.

Most of Pep and Klopps success is down to their technical team and we are seeing the influence it is starting to have on Spurs. Its actually what worries me about Chelsea. They have signed some very good players, I Think Koulibally and Cucurella are top signings but the challenge with Chelsea is the longterm planning and players signed to suit the system which City and Liverpool do very well.

Chelsea still have a top team and if Kante and Kovačić hit form then they will challenge for the title. Spurs have started slowly, patchy against the Saints and awful against Chelsea but they have avoided defeat at the Bridge a nice 4 points and they can only get better. Can't quite work them out but what hurts is with Conte in charge we will probably obliterate them in both fixtures and still drop points.

The matches between the Top 5 will be interesting. I can't see us getting any easy 6 against Chelsea so we might have to pick up points elsewhere. Probably at least beat Spurs at home. Arsenal will be hard aswell but still dont control games as they should and Ramsdale is just a mistake away from changing any momentum they build in football matches.

As for City having looked at the state of teams like Chelsea and Spurs I kinda wish we were playing them early in the season before they get better as I expect they will. Add United to that aswell. We have the most players going to the world cup and with a potentially smaller squad if Bernardo leaves its going to be tough going.

We are a team in transition in the final third as the midfielders still dont see Haaland's clever runs. Its so bad Foden failed to give him 2 easy tapins and I feel Pep probably hooked him off at half time for that. A bit harsh but Pep tends to be hard on the players he rates. Think Foden is our second best player after KDB and its important he gets a clear fixed role this season so we can get more out of him.

Haaland looked disappointed not to score which is good as his standards are high and he never stops making those runs. Such an intelligent footballer who always sees the spaces. In 3 to 4 months his teammates will start seeing his clever runs. Thank God he is not going to the world cup and Pep will have time to work with him during the world cup break.Too many people have us as clear favourites but we almost have to win most of the matches before the world cup to stand a chance.

Lastly on United, ten Hag needs to pretty much do what Arteta has done. Just get rid of the players that don't suit his style or the attitude is simply not up to it. It naturally takes time which I think United won't afford him but its the only way.
