Excl: Manchester United have now reached an agreement in principle to sign Martin Dúbravka. Newcastle are ready to accept loan with buy option clause worth £5m.
Final details are being discussed as personal terms are already agreed — here we go expected soon.

Not really sure if this bloke is gonna challenge Dave much, but hopefully the fact we are getting in another keeper will give him that kick up the backside. I think we will be looking to replace him next summer.

I can actually see the logic in bringing in a short-term backup keeper similar to DDG rather than going for one with a completely different skillset
----------------------------------------------
You can?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah.
If the decision has been made that a new number one is coming in next summer, and instead a backup is going to be added on a short-term contract, doesn’t it make sense that it’s a similar kind of keeper to DDG, so that if he becomes unavailable, you have more of a like-for-like replacement ready and don’t have to revise tactically?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cant really see the logic in that. I don't think De Gea has any real stand out attributes that we wouldn't be able to find in a more modern keeper.
If we wanted to put Ederson in goal for us for example and have him play exactly like De Gea does for the sake of not having to revise tactically, it's not as if he'd be unable to do it. We'd definitely see some benefit on occasion though.
I don't know much about Dubravka tbf. He might be well suited to playing with his feet and in a higher line - he would never have got to showcase it in the Newcastle team over the past few years anyway.

Eddie Howe likes to play out from the back. But even he preferred Nick Pope, and he’s shiiiit with his feet as well. It’s such a pointless signing.

We signed six under Van Gaal.

What a window that was, erections everywhere and then Van Gaal’s football made us all crave the viaagra.

Falcao was exciting, proper deadline day end of the night stuff!
Maybe we’ll have one of this this week.

That’s right. The next year it was Romero, Darmian, Memphis, Martial, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger.
