NLD Team formation & selection

Ok… massive game on Saturday… 2 teams bang in form…

Do we go 3-4-3…. Or 3-5-2?

I’m going for 3-5-2… putting an extra man in midfield could prove pivotal.

Lloris

Romero Dier Lenglet

Kuleveski Bissouma Holbjerg Bentancur Perisic

Son Kane

Kuleveski can play wingback, no problem..,

This is the team I’d like to see for this match… let’s go for it.

Thoughts?

Fulham H 2-1 - Very lucky to win this game. They were a real struggle to overcome and even took the lead.

that was our best result of the season and we should have scored about 6

oh and they scored the last goal of the game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal only beat them 2-1 and had to come from behind.. maybe he's thinking of that game instead?

I don't think Spurs are bang in form. numerous complaints and threads from Spurs fans about your performances seem to back this up. You are getting results, but not bang in form. However, Arsenal are in form against lesser teams. Their first real test against United was a loss. So it definitely could go either way, but I think Arsenal will nick it.

Oh look, I guess someone is falling for the usual media hype/narrative.
Mate, for several years now we ( Spurs fans ) have been constantly bombarded with negative media views regarding Spurs. It is completely expected that we constantly hear Spurs "are not playing well" yet Arsenal are "word beaters" with a "chance of the title" whilst totally ignoring just who they have played so far.

Then there is Liverpool who we keep being told are "not quite at it" a terms that never changes after every poor performance. So why are they "not playing well" ??
Look at Chelsea. We are told there is nothing to worry about. They will "be up there soon enough"
And please don't get me started on Utd. My god the media just won't recognise they are bang average, miles off the title and STILL talk of them like it was 1995.
So please, we really don't need you to rinse and repeat what we are told every day from this pundit or that pundit. There is a narrative, both positive and negative for several clubs. Proof ? just listen to the average live match commentary relating to any of these teams, and it is clear as day who the favorites are. Just by the tone of the commentators voice and the way they will talk non stop about the recognised favorite, whilst either virtually ignoring the other team, or picking up on any minor mistake they make. Christ the both the Sky and BT Sport commentators always ( and I mean every time ) will find some sort of reason to tell us one of the two teams playing scored against Spurs or beat Spurs at some point in the past.Listen to the next game and you will see.

I am not falling for media hype ffs, you are obsessed with the media. I am merely going by the comments from Spurs fans over the past few weeks.

I am not slagging Spurs off either, I am only saying that I dont think you are bang in form. You can play a lot better than you've done.

Yeah it's a fair point. We're picking up results but not playing great. Though that's largely based on a narrow perception of what 'good' football is these days. If you don't dominate possession commentators just lay it on how you're bound to concede etc. We're actually really solid and have a gameplan that's working. I think the main reasons we haven't had more convincing wins have been Son's form and being stuck with Royal at RWB.

It always a bonus to win when largely we are not playing great. The form of certain players is a concern but what worries me most is our defence is not as good a we beleive it is and the Gooners will explot that.

I just hope we turn up and play like a team of men like we did at home last season then it will be game one. But we seem to be in a slumber at the moment and they may take full advantage.

But if Conte plays two in the middle forget about it and if you are not there watching turn the TV off as we know what will happen.

Jimmy Greaves :

This is why Conte will play 3 in midfield… especially if Kulu is expected to be out…

Conte has already hinted at this…

Definitely he is. He constantly praises Arsenal, whilst always belittling Spurs.

I was at the Fulham match, and Spurs absolutely battered them. Yet Fridge thinks Spurs were lucky to beat them.

Frankly other than the Chelsea game, Spurs have been the better allround side in every match they have played this season. Performances may not have all been 10/10, but they were definitely the better side in most matches.

Spurs may not be in peak Barca form, but they have certainly been good enough to see off most of the Prem opponents this season, without actually losing. You could say the same about City, have they battered all their opponents this season?
