And furthermore you own argument about other leagues is now defunct. Spurs’ easy group has the team that came second last season in France, the team that came second in Portugal. And the Europa league winners from last season.

Can't argue with any of that, really.

My main bone of contention is how dismissive and disparaging some people are of the quality to be found elsewhere. The differences in elite sports are rarely as large as people hyperbolically make out. Only recently, Chelsea lost in Zagreb and Spurs in Lisbon; only last night, Atlético were defeated in Brugge. Even more sensationally, the eventual champions last year lost their opening home game to FC Sheriff of Moldova .

So I guess the predicted final top 6 is

1. Man City
2. Brighton
3. Arsenal
4. Tottenham
5. Man Utd
6. Chelsea
