Too many Tims buying in to those who would denigrate a great man. Typical of today's woke cancel culture. Shame on you if this is how you define the Big Man's legacy. He will always stand as a colossus at our club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're referring to me then shut the feck up. My family knew him well and the way he treated many players...especially John Fallon...was a disgrace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Listen, all I wanted to do was recognise the man's birthday. That shouldn't be an in for people to peddle whatever faults he may or may not have had.
Clearly my family didn't move in the same high exalted circles as yours so my view is informed by.
1. His impact on our club
2. Reports about other matters that went on at the club at the time.
You choose to focus on the latter. I, and the vast majority of fans choose to focus, and honour, the former.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry. I'll be sure to stick rigidly to the script in future and agree with whatever point you might be trying to make.
And don't tell me to 'listen'.
And finally your comment is completely inaccurate.i did not 'focus' on the latter. At least 2 thirds of my comment was praising him.

I believe he was a great coach, a legend of our club.
i also believe that he perhaps could have done more to protect kids, i'm not saying it makes him a bad man, was a different time and is difficult to know what to do sometimes.

My guess is that he might have been aware of that stuff. For sure some people at the club must have known.
I'm not referring to that. I'm talking about how some really great servants to the club because their views on some things didn't quite coincide with his.
And that's got f all to do with being woke.

Well seeing as the man is dead and can't defend himself maybe not say anything that could be libelous if he was alive.

Don't be daft. So we can't speak about any dead people? Or just the ones you like.

Is your problem with JS about the medal thing and John Fallon?
You know who got that medal, of course.
So maybe, just maybe, he was just following orders?

That's a relatively minor issue compared to some of them. And at the time, he was one of the biggest figures in world football. Could have gone to Man Utd and several other clubs at any time. He didn't follow orders from anyone unless he was happy to do so. Certainly now from lamebrains like the whites or the Kellys

I wish the things at the boys club never happened, not because of the effect on the club but the effect on the victims.
It seems like people knew what these b@stards were up to, or at least heard rumours.
I don't know if stein knew, he sacked him and if it was because of this then he should have called the police. Can't say for sure thats why though.
