There has been non-stop adoration for Erling Haaland after his start for Manchester City, praise from all angels and even fans from their major rivals like us and Liverpool in awe of the guy. Now I have said a lot about Haaland and whilst I am perplexed at this apparent love for him as a global superstar, does it also re-affirm the fact that City aren't a big club? At the derby game a United fan even jumped out of the crowd (after the match) to have a selfie with the guy, almost as if he is on a level with the likes of Messi which he clearly isn't.
Remember when Henry played for Arsenal in his prime? Remember when Ronaldo played for us in his prime? Drogba at Chelsea?? There was nothing but hatred for all of them; each played for huge clubs and other football fans wished nothing but misery and bad form upon them. To me it feels like there is love for Haaland from all angles, the media seem to want him to do well even; United pundits like Neville, Carragher for Liverpool wax lyrical over him.
For me this is simply because City aren't seen on the global stage as a truly big club yet. All that money spent and still no UCL in sight, as well as a small fanbase compared to even the likes of Tottenham. When we had Ronnie in his heyday, pundits would tear into him for his style of play or going down too easily. I remember some of the articles in the MSM would label him a petulant child, they couldn't stand how a juggernaut like us had a proper superstar in our ranks.
With Haaland it's like they all celebrate when he scores and I don't know why. He isn't even a great footballer to me, poor touch and technique. The fact he has a release clause to go abroad in 2024 tells you everything about his perception of City: he sees them as a stepping stone.

I'll be at the Argos that's in Regent Rd. Sainsbury's over the weekend.
I'll give you my loose change if you load my car.

Twice as much as Sancho then and he's 3 times better.
Seems he lost out there.

I went to Heaton Park for networking and to see if fellow 606ers would turn up.
Keyboard warriors like yourself bottled it and the rest were busy.

I didn’t bottle anything. Never gave you any indication I was up for a bum did I?.. since you mentioned bottling though, where you up to with that name change you coward?

I haven’t bottled a name change, that’s a myth.
MrMorrison is the poster who will choose, but he’s decided not to yet.
Not my issue.
