Not sure about this. Too big a figure to be around his successor. Can he keep his neb out?

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says he is more concerned about what he is having for dinner than the appointment of Michael Beale as Rangers boss.

Strange one this. His financial skills and risk aversion are what guided us through some potentially challenging times.
With the climate becoming more unpredictable in terms of significantly reduced income as many fans may struggle to pay the disproportionate costs of following a football team and a possible ban on alcohol based sponsorship; I get it.
His likely interference with contracts and signings will of course be a concern, but as a club; we will likely have to draw our horns in. Very uncertain times ahead. And if we have to manage with a significantly reduced income, who better for checks and balances?

Lawwell comes across to me as your version of David Murray
He might no bankrupt the place like Murray did with us, but he certainly seems to want to hang around the place longer than he really should to exert his influence, and will do everything that he thinks "is in the best interests of the club" when really, they aren't.

Fully get that and in appointing another money man as CEO the club signalled its intentions to remain that way inclined. The worry is he exceeds the bounds of his non-exec role and lobbies from within to do things the Lawwell way starting a boardroom battle and all that would entail about pashing off a key employee. Nicholson would have been his appointment so there will be an implied back scratch needing returned.

The big man will not suffer fools. If Lawwell were to drive him out it will be more than just gangsters he has to worry about torching his house.
You’d hope the existing staff fill him in on past goings on though some of them will be more loyal to the fixture Lawwell than the transient Ange plus Lawwell has his spy in the camp to feedback any whispers - got to admire his planning and execution, eh?

I was going to contribute an insightful comment on the pros and cons of FIFA influencer Pistol Pete rejoining Celtic as non-Exec Chairman.
But realised today is the day that Govan loan shark Douglas Hamilton gets voted back in by an ironically “slim” majority.
