If their selling the club don't know why anyone would think they will spend much if anything at all now

Liverpool are in an identical position and literally are buying the player discussed.

Tbh I don't get the logic when people say the fact the club is for sale at the right price means the owners won't spend. Because that in itself devalues the asset they're trying to get a potential buyer interested in. It doesn't make economic sense to just not buy or attempt to improve the squad whilst being willing to sell the club.

Can’t see our poundshop Pep being happy about this.

I don’t think they are in an identical position, as I mentioned in an earlier post.

And the point was more about how it could hold up any business. It’s been mentioned that we could bring funds forward from the summer budget. But to achieve this, given the lack of cash flow, would require more borrowing that new owners may not want to club to commit to if they are about to buy the club.
