Since Poch got sacked I must admit I've become more and more disillusioned with spurs. Hiring Mourinho felt like the beginning of the end of that connection between the fans and club. With the new ground now in place we basically support an investment vehicle rather than football club. The owners will only ever do the minimum they can to appease for fans.
Gave up my season ticket this season and haven't missed it at all. Have been a few times to my local semi pro football and rugby clubs this season and have enjoyed that more than most spurs games over the last few years.
Obviously spurs are in the blood and you can never switch off from them, but I no longer go out of my way to watch us. It's now 3 years of boring negative football and I'm struggling to keep any enthusiasm for spurs.
Don't really see any way things improve either. Kane will be off soon, Son's gone to shiiite. Conte, a top manager looks clueless. ENIC won't invest. The NLD in a few weeks will be toxic.
Becoming detached from spurs

Bake em-we battered Hornchurch 4-1 on boxing day Came 2nd last season and bottled the play offs (so can still relate to spurs )
As you say the standard is decent and it's nice having a pint during the game. Also nice, not having to worry about train strikes/engineering works!

Think this happens to a lot of people tbh. Football generally (playing, pizz-poor standard but still) and Liverpool specifically used to be a massive part of my life. But it’s just not anymore. I still enjoy football and enjoy seeing my team do well but it’s just a game now. If Liverpool lose, it doesn’t bother me that much.
Part of that is the direction the games gone in. VAR is just the ultimate atmosphere killer but the extent to which players cheat and it’s accepted is insane. But the bigger part is life - kids are my weekends now, not football. It’s like that for almost everyone I know.

Very good point. Var has taken away a lot of the enjoyment for me going to live games.
Had my first kid last year too, and that certainly puts football into perspective.
I do just want to enjoy watching spurs again, and think 3 negative manager's in a row has killed that with spurs!

VAR has improved the game for me, although still a lot of work to be done. Cheating is being caught more because of it and therefore being attempted less.
I have two kids and they take up most of my time but I'm still devastated after a loss and my day is an extremely happy one after a win.
Although I understand some people have experiences which numbs them to football after time, although from my experience that can change. My father was done with football years ago
When Klopp came in it changed and he began watching every game again, instead of complaining about cheating, poor players who can't pass and God forgive if somebody happened to pass backwards instead of forwards.

Same here when bielsa came in. Got us playing good football. Win or lose we were entertaining. Now we're in survival mode waiting for another bielsa.

Fans know even when results aren't happening if things are in the right direction. Being entertained is a massive part of it.

I’m not sure experience numbed me to football but my childhood definitely shaped how I think football should be in relation to family.
My dad was the stereotypical football fanatic - when Liverpool lost I remember as a child just walking on eggshells trying not to say anything to annoy him because he’d be so p*ssed off at the result. I’m also fairly sure his insistence of going to so many games contributed to the breakup of my parents marriage because he’d just disappear at weekends.
I swore that football would never come ahead of my family and never dictate my mood. It never has. I love my old man but I never wanted to be like him.
