Nottingham Forest v Wolves Match Day Thread

On Wednesday Wolves will take on Nottingham Forest in their quarter final Carabao Cup clash.

After an appalling start to the current season this competition probably represents the best chance Wolves have for securing European football for next season.
That having been said, assuming that Wolves win this game, they will be up against some stern opposition in the next round. Barring any upsets, the other teams in the draw for the semi finals are likely to be Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Last season Wolves were responsible for dumping Forest out of the same competition with a 4-0 score line. That game was also played at the City Ground. The two teams have only met once since then, a league game which resulted in a 1-0 home win for Wolves.

Gem’s prediction: 0-2

What is the deal with Guedes. He looks really poor!!

Is it just a confidence thing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like we may well have blown another £27.5m away on a player that is never going to make it in the Premier League.

The list of them is getting longer and longer isn't it?

Our transfer business over the last 3 windows has been a total scatter gun shambles. Where are Amiga and wolfie when you need some reassurance that all is well?

I think this is where wolfie flips to doom and gloom. He will be more critical of Julen...nothing has changed.....why can't we go to a back three etc.

And presumably Amigas daughter is finalising transfers hence Amiga thinking every single one is the right player at the right price.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we have spent more than Newcastle in the last six months. FFS look at the difference in returns on investment.

My daughter only started at Wolves a couple of months ago, But yeah she works in the transfer department.

I think he will come good given time. Particularly with Lopegetui. He looked good against Liverpool, then looked poor first half yesterday at a point when everyone else also looked poor. He is one of those players who will get jumped on more than others though, because he joined at a time when things were bad, so he kind of becomes a figurehead for that everytime he plays poorly.

I think he needs a run playing centrally with a striker, where we press and play with pace. I think he will start to build confidence then, like against Liverpool. If we aren't going to give him that though, we may as well sell him.

Hopefully Amiga's daughter is more pragmatic than he is.

MGW was a bit of a, wasn't he?

Given Wolves brought him through from a young age, you'd have thought he would show a bit of respect. Massive difference between the way he and Boly responded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? So you didn’t notice any of the stick he got from Wolves fans in the prem game at your place and in this game? I think that’s why he chose to react like that. Pretty standard celebration these days really as well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've not got a problem with celebration, although he's just opened himself to more abuse.

More the fact that he got his knickers in a twist when Cunha mocked his celebration and caused a brawl in the middle of the pitch. If he's going to give it out, he can't complain if he thinks someone else got the bigger kodak moment.

Just shows to me that he isn't the most professional and we probably made the right decision letting him go. The reason the Wolves fans tend to boo him, is he came across as being more interested in the celebrity life than football. There were a few controversies about him on social media, some involving his girlfriend as well. Then, when he finally got his chance as a starter, upped sticks ans moaned about the lack of opportunities.

I used to like him and hoped he'd make it with us, but happy for him to be mocked now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest "Kodak" moment was when Henderson did it again to Wolves having saved the last pen!!!!! Game Over!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not for MGW it wasn't. He was still upset by Cunha's and was more worried about that than celebrating with his own team and fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on his Social Media the Kodak moment for him was the one he shared. Him in front of Wolves fans just after scoring. Cunha's penalty was irrelevant as Wolves lost.

So you think he'd post a picture of Cunha on his social media if he thought it was a bigger kodak moment?

He started a brawl over it on the pitch. He was obviously devastated by it. Then continued it onto social media, such was his pain.

😂😂😂 devastated!!

He was annoyed for sure but I think the wolves players seem more devastated. Coming out with all sorts of nonsense about the ref and claiming refs are the reason for your poor season so far. Still crying about it 2 days later 😢

No one has said refs are the reason for our poor season so far. We've just had terrible decisions two games in a row.

We're only talking about it because you came back on the thread to post 24 hours after everyone else moved on.
