If wenger is so worried about it, he can give him a rest at the early part of the season, before any injuries start kicking in so he has to play. We have a wealth of midfield talent.

I think wenger is just being over-cautious.

People say Wilshere shouldn't play as he is already a full international, but he's only played 3 times, only one of which was competitive, and has never played in a summer tournament... personally i think the more experience of different types of football he can get, the better in the long run.

Maybe England will be knocked out early.

Also maybe Pearce won't even play him! Maybe he thinks Wilshere is just a squad player there incase someone better gets injured during the tournamount
