Only VC, I and maybe one or two others remember him.
VC reminded me today because Rashy equalled one of his records. He also set the record for most goals in a season with thirty two.
But here's a funny thing, I barely remember them. He was a very quiet unassuming man, never celebrated much.
Didn't score from outside the area, few with the outside of his head, but plenty using the inside.
He was not the player for someone like me who was looking for heroes, but I bet Sir Matt had his name pencilled in automatically.
Football is wonderful for allowing different size, shapes and athleticism of players to flourish if they have talent.
God, I love this game and these moments.

My dad passed away 52 before Christmas a life long United fan, his funeral was Tuesday and in his eulogy I talked about Jack Rowley and Denis Violet two of his favourite United players, I went to the game today in the seats we have shared for decades, he would have been proud.

Albert Quixhall another one thrown in there but in my younger years when my hero was captain Marvel Robbo my dad would always bring me back down to earth with Duncan Edwards and what he could have been.
Somehow today I just feel like we have United back.
