A very disappointing display today, and quite frankly unacceptable for a derby. The only players I felt did well were Kulu, Sarr and Lenglet. They werenāt brilliant but had no support from the other dross on the field.
That leads me to the article in hand. Our squad is so incredibly bad itās a joke. As usual we have some quality surrounded by rubbish.
Iāve created four categories; keep, sell, loan, bench so we have an idea of the work that needs to be done over the next few windows.
P.S I know that bench and keep are mutually exclusive so think of keep as first 11 and bench as squad players.
Keep:
- Kane (though I wouldnāt begrudge him a move)
- Son (went from golden boot to clown shoes. Deli Ali x 2 this season)
- Kulu (class)
- Bentancur (class)
- Richarlison (needs more game time, should start in front of son)
- Peresic ( our best wingback at 33, says everything. Keep another season)
- Romero ( our best defender even though heās rash, we need more quality besides him so he can actually focus on defending)
- Bissouma (was brilliant at Brighton, donāt understand why heās so poor for spurs, no doubt negative tactics. Should hopefully come good)
Loan:
- Sarr (a youngster with quality and potential but I think a season playing regular first team football would be beneficial)
- Gill (same as Saar)
- Skipp (been poor since injury, I think a loan to a PL team and hope he discovers his form / gain experience)
- White (same as above)
- Spence (weād all love to see him get game time but wonāt happen under conte)
Bench:
- Lenglet (heās been decent and a solid loan. If heād be happy to stay as back up / play on merit then Iād happily keep him. Ideally we bring in two high quality CB).
- Hojberg (very good squad player but not the quality we need to really challenge for trophies)
- Dier (happy as a squad player playing 10 games a season, thatās it)
- Forster (donāt see us getting two keepers and other areas are more important so can stay on the bench for cup games)
Sell:
- Lloris (has been brilliant for spurs but age has caught up with him. Donāt want to hate on him as heās been a loyal servant but we need a high quality keeper)
- Royale (waste of space)
- Sess (shown nothing in four years. Canāt cross or take a man on)
- Doherty (potentially squad but just not good enough)
- Tanganga (again just not the quality we require)
- Sanchez (bambi on ice)
- Moura (contract ending)
- Davies (steady Eddie but not the quality we require)
- lo Celso (was so poor for us)
- Ndombele (all the quality but application)
- Regulion (good player but not a wingback)
- Winks (š)
- Rondon (canāt get a game in the French league)
So thatās keep (7), loan (5) bench (4), sell (13). That just shows the quality of our squad..
Being realistic, that will take a few years to shift, by that time both Kane and son will be 2-3 years older and perhaps replacing.
Weāre an absolute mess, I just canāt see many positives right now.

Why did conte/paratici clhoose to purchase richarlison for 60m instead of the many areas our team needs attention in?

People cry out for a Kane back up, we sign one and no one is happy still.
Conte was obsessed with Bastoni when we could have got other targets, could have got Botman for example.

Part of the issue is can you unload the players you want rid off, will other clubs buy them? if yes then try and sell a few but not sure if there would be a lot of interest at prices whereby you could reinvest the cash brought in, some of the guys will be on a decent wedge and like living in London
No real opinion on whether Conte should stay or not, not a fan of watching his style but if you were winning more games that wouldn't matter much to the Spurs fans shorter term, changes will happen but will there be enough and can they happen quickly enough?

We are always a year behind. We should have offloaded some of the players we went on loan this season.
We have to get rid of them first then the deadwood which are still apart of the present squad.
We are screwed again.

Who would even want any of the players though?
Add to that: At the price Levy would want for them, and you have the problem in a nutshell. It’s why we still have the four loanees!

It will be tough to deal with the numbers you need and you're bang on there, the loans should be the first to have gone but for the most part are still on your books
At least most of you seem to realise what you need in to help the squad but getting rid of what you dont need could be tough

Tarrico you might have some clubs that could possibly fancy say Dier, Sanchez etc but they will be on decent wages and might not want to goto some of the clubs that could possibly fancy them?
The Levy tax on the proces is a issue, good when you dont want to lose someone, Kane for instance but restrictive when its a player you want away

This exactly. We know Levy won’t be getting rid of Conte to the summer. He will be of the belief our best chance at CL qualification is muddling on to May with Conte.
I expect a loan with an option to buy this month. Then when Conte leaves we don’t have to buy the player is the new manager isn’t keen.
