Welcome to the Matchday Thread and apologies to any Accrington Stanley Fans joining us as I couldn't fit the full name in the title (so Stanley was benched )
Away trip to the Wham Stadium (careful in the Gents 😮 ) for the Travelling Faithful and obviously a potential banana skin, JM say's he knows the importance of the FA Cup and will respect the competition.
Venue...Wham Stadium...Date...28th Jan...Kick Off...1230
Team News
Leeds United
There will be late calls on the fitness of Liam Cooper and Tyler Adams. Archie Gray is back in training, as is Crysencio Summerville, who should be ready for the trip to Nottingham Forest next week.
Record signing Georginio Rutter is set to start, while Luis Sinisterra will also be involved. However, Adam Forshaw and Stuart Dallas are still out.

Selected Stats
This will be the first competitive meeting between Accrington Stanley and Leeds United since August 2014, when the sides met in a first round League Cup clash at Elland Road, with the Whites winning 2-1.
Leeds United eliminated Championship side Cardiff in the FA Cup third round after a replay, having lost their previous three ties against sides from a lower division. The Whites haven’t knocked out two sides from a lower division in an FA Cup campaign since 2002-03 (three teams).
Leeds have had three different players (Willy Gnonto, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo) score twice in the FA Cup this season, the first time three players have scored 2+ goals for the Whites in an FA Cup campaign since 2009-10 (Jermaine Beckford, Luciano Becchio and Mike Grella) and first time as a top-flight side since 1978-79 (four players: Carl Harris, Frank Gray, Eddie Gray and Arthur Graham).
Best I can do Lads 🤔
Accrington buzzing about this tie and given our history in Cup Games you can understand their sense of optimism, also the fact we shipped 4 goals just to get past Cardiff means they'll be confident they could cause an upset.
Jesse say's he respects the competition so let's see him field a strong squad
I'm going 1-3 with Paddy getting 2 and Wilf grabbing another 🤞

Greenwood is miles away from PL standard should be out on loan, solid display under the conditions,

The problem is that sending young players out on loan weakens Leeds's chances of getting the u21s promoted into a higher division where they will be pitted against the best teams in the premier league u21s. The young player's development depends on them playing against the best opposition available. In the Premier League 2 division there are matches that do not stretch the Leeds u21s.

Our under21s is basically full of 17-18 year olds now. Promotion looked a certainty but 3 losses on the trot with the really young players. Shame

He's looked a bit edgy for a while imo. Not sure why.

Hopefully he’s happy, be a massive mistake to let him go and £20m is laughable…if he played for Brighton they’d be turning down £60m.

These young players will only learn how to lose and have an excuse. It is better if the players are confident nothing succeeds like success.
