they've signed him on a unique contract, the precise length being "until spurs next win a trophy".

this allows them to amortise the fee over <insert hilariously high number here> years.

No rules broken, nothing says we cant give long contacts , we were just smart and have a chairman and group ready to back the club, ask your own billionaire for money.
And you are one big hypocrite, when the super league was proposed you were salivating how much you would get and be able to spend on players and how you would then be able to match the big boys

I think everyone forgets when Boehly bought the club, one of the conditions was that a certain amount was set aside specifically to invest in the squad.

Something like £1.75bn.

This is why they are flexing so much muscle. Obviously it is not sustainable long term, but that's a heck of a budget and sporting plan.

Also they are signing young players who they can probably sell for larger fees.

So they do seem to have a plan in place.

This is how football is now and has been for the last decade or so.

Spurs plan right now seems better than Chelsea going by league positions and domestic cup performances. Chelsea are just spending recklessly. Their owner is a complete dunce when it comes to football, do no real surprise they are where they are in the Prem.

And there you have it. I like to call these gems the Sandy endorsement post. We are on the way up again because as we all know Sandy can't help getting things completely wrong.

Chelsea have a squad of around 35… that’s just too much.

Will cause disharmony… so many players won’t get to play.
