If I'd been wrongly accused of these heinous crimes and had spent time in jail as a result I'd sure as hell want retribution especially if my career was in tatters along with my social standing.

She didn’t release the audio / footage and has been reluctant to pursue the case throughout, so who is he suing?

Was she reluctant initially? She gave a statement. If she had denied that Mason had raped her at that point then I doubt things would have gotten this far. She may have retracted her initial statement, but I don't think she was reluctant initially.

It’s reasonable to believe she is one of the withdrawing witnesses.
