Granted today was never likely to be the platform to showcase his talents but what I got from today and what I've seen so far in a blue shirt we had a very lucky escape missing out on Mudryk. You obviously can't write him off completely yet but at 25 million Trossard is looking a much better player, probably the signing of the window. He could turn out to be a decent player or the ultimate YouTube highlights player. Either way I'm glad to admit that those in charge were right to stay resolute with their offer and not get dragged into a bidding war. Ultimately we have to say well done to Shakthar they've played a blinder they've rinsed Chelsea good and proper.

Actually think he’ll become a very good player, he’s got all the raw material. Maybe finding it hard to adjust at present, going by todays game only you’d say zinchenko is a terrible player, when that wouldn’t be true. . Think there will be a lot more to come from the Ukrainian, but you’d argue that arsenal got the best outcome for this season anyway.

Mudryk might well turn out to be the second coming of Messi. But that's water under the bridge now.
He may indeed be an Arsenal fan, but Shakhtar were never going to sell him to anyone who wasn't prepared to pay the whole fee up front.
International players employed in Ukraine had the freedom to walk away from their employers for free after the war broke out. Resulting in major losses for the bigger clubs who had more foreign talent.
The lump-sum payment from the Mudryk deal is probably the only thing keeping his former club going at the moment.

Srna saud it was him that chose Chelsea to us. They gave him a better offer

To be fair, we did get dragged into a bidding war, we just lost.
But I've seen nothing yet to make me feel bad about that. I didn't particularly care at the time either. The amount of fuss some fans made over "missing out" on a player they hadn't heard of 3 months prior is mad.

Mudryk will probably become a good player, but looking back on it for this season Trossard is probably the smarter move. He hit the ground running and already knew the league, and as we’re now going for the title, that’s exactly what we needed from a January signing to help get us over the line. Mudryk may have done a bit better here, but he’d have definitely took longer to settle in than Trossard has
