Forest v Wolves - Match Thread

Well, it's certainly tight at the bottom!

With one win in ten we certainly aren't in the best form, but we have played Man City, Man United (2), Newcastle and Spurs...

Last Game Overview: A poor performance overall.

The Good: Dennis's finish.

The Bad: Giving away the penalty at the end. What was Niakhate thinking?

The Ugly: The ref was absolutely woeful.

Special Mention: Looking forward to Henderson coming back. Navas looked tiny when they took their penalty.

Overall Record: Currently we stand at W45 D26 L63

Injuries / Signings:

Ayew, Boly, Henderson, Hennessey, McKenna and Wood are all out for this one.

Kouyate and Niakhate will probably be jet-lagged. Could they and Awoniyi be surprise inclusions?

Will Johnson and Yates recover for this one? Will Awoniyi come off the bench (or be on it) to score the winner?!

Form:

Forest Home Form - W2 D3 L1 GF8 GA6
Wolves Away Form - W1 D2 L3 GF5 GA10

Forest are 1.2 PPG over the last ten games. Wolves are 1.3 PPG.

Team:

Navas
Aurier Niakhate Felipe Lodi
Yates Danilo Freuler
MGW
Dennis Johnson

I really hope Shelvey doesn't figure, could probably add a few more that I hope are glued to the bench.

Prediction:

They'll have a couple missing due to the red cards they received, we'll continue to have about ten missing.

This has got 1-0 written all over it. Hopefully to us!

COYRs!!!

I don’t want to sound overly pessimistic. But I think that result will eventually send us down. I can’t see us winning any of the away games or even getting a point really. I think we can beat Southampton at home and possibly Brighton. But will lose to United and Arsenal. So max of 6 more points for me. I don’t think that keeps us up.

But, you never know, maybe we get a couple of surprise results. It’s bonus we have some players back so that helps. Maybe we can find a bit of form?

I don’t want to sound overly optimistic, but play like that for the next ten games and we’ll stay up! πŸ‘πŸ»

We played better for sure but couldn’t beat a very poor wolves team at home. We conceded again and they also hit the bar. We need to play better than that to stay up for sure!

Neither keeper had much to do, we had two really good chances and fluffed the pair. It actually feels like a defeat. The plus is we are getting players back. I just don’t see us getting 10 more points before the end of the season, which is a bare minimum required.

Thats pretty much the story of the season. Create a couple of chances, possibly score one and then usually concede two at least. The only times we haven’t conceded is when teams have missed absolute sitters.

Unless we start conceding less goals and pick up some points we are going down for sure. No shame in it and not really a criticism. It’s just realistic

Or even stop conceding less goalsπŸ‘πŸ˜…

Yes we should have won.

At the end of season the league table does not like.

As always a case of accepting whatever outcome and moving on.

It might be the bare minimum required. None of us know really.

I can't see us beating Arsenal or Man United at home. Liverpool away looks improbable also.

Aston Villa away looks unlikely based on our away form and their current form.

Although saying all that, we did draw with Chelsea and City and beat Liverpool at home. With arguably a weeker side (no Danilo, Dennis and Felipe).

That leaves Leeds, Brentford, Chelsea and Crystal Palace away. Brighton and Southampton at home.

I can see ten points for us, just as much as I can for the other teams in the mix.
