Everton route

Said this a while back, so this isn’t some knee jerk reaction from that diabolical loss, but I personally feel under this regime we are slowly heading down Everton territory into complete mediocrity.

We are literally going nowhere as a club with zero direction and when Kane leaves in the summer, this will be the final nail in the coffin. No Kane, we are 14th/15th place at best. That current defence is simply the worst defence in the league and it’s not even close.

An utter s** show of a football club that have been mugging off our fantastic supporters for far too long now. Enjoy Harry while you can people because we won’t be seeing him in a Spurs shirt again after this season. Eric Dier will get his new contract the meat headed f** and will no doubt start next season pulling the wool over the eyes of another poor manager being forced to play him.

Literally zero positives to come out of this club. I fully expect us to be in and amongst the mid table pack next season where we will slowly morph into Everton. A nice shiny stadium with f** all to show for it but complete failure on the pitch - Daniel Levy’s legacy

Hopefully people have enjoyed our occasional flirt in the CL because that’s the last we will see our club in that competition for 10/15 years. Newcastle won’t be going anywhere and will take our place and the likes of Chelsea etc will eventually get it right with their billions. Liverpool be right up there next season with the others. I don’t even think we will finish infront of the likes of Brighton, Brentford next season either. 2 much better run clubs with actual direction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be honest don, there’s not much point in being in the champions league under Enic. There was never any ambition to actually win it. Just get fourth and get loads of money. Rinse and repeat

Some like Sandy unfortunately are happy with that. They’re as much of the problem. Fans of United, Chelsea, Liverpool , city, demand more. They expect trophies. Enic have allowed spurs to accept failure and worse , non football like Jose provided.

There are some old school spurs still out there. I speak to them all the time. Those that remember our traditions of to dare is to do and front foot attacking football.

Unfortunately Enic make money from the tourists and the sandys of this world

We have become 2005-2022 arsenal. Without the odd trophy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Only clowns like you think Spurs can win trophies with the current squad.

Changing the owners won't make a difference. You cannot just magic up trophies if you have rubbish players.

It happens to every club in world football, clubs have ups and downs. Spurs are about to hit a downer. But they will be back, they always do.

Stop waffling on the same nonsense that supporters like me don't want trophies we do. But are realistic enough to know the current squad is a million miles away from winning anything, whoever is in charge.

Get used to it for a few seasons, and just support the club. The worse is still to come.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fans like you want the ESL , Jose mourinho, defensive football and Enic

You are the complete opposite of what I stand for and believe

Wigan won an fa cup. You don’t even think we could do that?

Sad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Wigan won the FA Cup, that was a fluke. And pray tell me what division they are in now Same with Portsmouth. Leicester could go the same way.

"Kane has been around for years and we won faackll so is clearly part of the problem. Let him go somewhere and win trophies as he wont win them with us."

*********************************
Where on earth do clowns like this come from?
Is it just a little schoolboy?
How can Kane be "part of the problem" if we can "let him go somewhere and win trophies"?

"The problem" with Spurs has always been somewhere else than Kane. Kane was a part of the solution that ENIC's management never found.
Without Kane this club would have been down the lower half of the table.
And we'll see about that next season when Kane DOES leave!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I bet you thought the same when Bale left several years ago. But we actually went to have some of our best years under Poch. With Kane turning 30 this year,he needs to leave for his sanity and let’s reinvest the money and rebuild . He already wanted to leave 2 years ago and in a role where he is clearly now unhappy. Doubt he would perform at his best in a unhappy role.

One man does not make a club and nor did Bale. Reinvest and rebuild and I Can assure you we won’t play with 10 men when he leaves and we had done ok without him whilst he was injured.
There you go try having a discussion like an adult without throwing insults around..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For God's sake read your own post and see the contradictions. You must be 6 years old...there's no other excuse for such idiocy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, Kane will be at Spurs forever. Straight out of the Levy playbook. With fans like you no wonder

Spurs won’t be back Sandy that’s the thing. We had our day in the sun and we have nothing to show for it because the club and Levy were to incompetent to properly back the best manager we have had in the premier league era. Ever since then, it’s been downhill. Newcastle will be regulars in that CL, so who else are we overtaking? We are heading back to mid table mediocrity
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, stop being so dramatic. I saw Spurs get relegated with a very poor side, only an emerging Hoddle and Steve Perryman in the side. But they regrouped in the old 2nd division, rebuilt over the next two or three seasons, and starting winning trophies again.

Newcastle will not be regulars. They cannot just spend like City and Chelsea were able to. And I suspect this will be a one off season for them in the CL.

Liverpool were supposed to be regulars according to you, and even they are struggling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet Liverpool will be back and you know it. Plus, they have countless trophies to their name recently and we have nothing mate. Spurs are going nowhere under this regime mate. Just false hope from you.

Don, nobody is disputing that Spurs are on a lean spell right now, and will be for a few seasons. But to say they will never come back is ridiculous. Liverpool also need a rebuild, so they will be in the same boat. They have a poor defence and midfield, not quite as bad as Spurs. But they are a long way from being good any time soon. They do have better forwards than Spurs though.

If we can get a good enough manager in then the damage left by Kane leaving won't be as bad. Perhaps initially but getting a suitable coach and backing him is the way forward even if that means having 1 or 2 average seasons at first.

What we're seeing now is the result of a few years of wrong appointments and/or failures to back them properly.

Na we're not turning into Everton any time soon. Put a decent manager in charge and 2 or 3 signings and we'll look a completely different side. Heck, we've got half a team out on loan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not a chance. Same trap managers keep falling into: thinking these are good, coachable players on paper so only a few signings are needed. The past 4 managers have all hit the same roadblock, which is that these players - at this club - are done. They're jaded, complacent and shot as a collective. Doesn't matter how supposedly good some of them once were at previous clubs/under previous managers.

I only see Spurs going steadily downhill until literally half the squad (if not more) is refreshed over a period of 3-4 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Na it doesn't take that long to refresh things. And we've seen in the past few years there's a decent side in there. A cup final, top 4 in the PL despite everyone saying how Dier the football is etc.

I do take your point that it's not like Nagelsmann walks in and signs a CB and we're top 4 again. But I reckon (assuming we hire a good manager and sign a proper CB or two) it's more like a season of transition like Poch had when he joined.

posted on 24/4/23

Bear in mind the biggest thing Pochettino did in his first 12 months was getting rid of the old stagnant lot who weren't worth their place any more. Squad refresh innit

posted on 24/4/23

Yeah eggsactly. I guess the biggest difference now is the market for players (ie getting decent money out of mid table sides outside of England) is kinda ruined. If Levy is in charge of transfers we're facked.
