Ins and Outs in the Summer window

Think we can all agree that our first 11 is pretty decent but our squad needs strengthening otherwise we'll probably always be in Man City's shadow.

My view on who can/should go is as follows;

Matt Turner - has looked shaky when he plays - reminds me of Dracula when he sees a cross. I'd prefer someone experienced as backup to Ramsdale.

Tommy - shame as he looked great last season. Would ideally keep him and see if he can stay injury free and really push White but i wouldn't be that bothered if we sold.

Holding - old school Steve Bould type defender but with a hair transplant. Slow, cumbersome and although great in the dressing room we really need to improve our back up in this position.

Tierney - really thought he was captain material but Zinchenko has been so good that he is struggling to get game time. Would love to keep him but if we get 35m from the Toon we are unlikely to turn that down

Partey - love him when he plays but he is getting on a bit and can't see him staying as a squad player if we sign Caceido and Rice.

Xhaka - ditto above. Love the bloke, scared of nothing but would he want to stay on as a reserve?

ESR - no idea what has happened to him. Looked so promising last season. Got in the England squad and scored on his debut. Injuries have set him back but Arteta's reluctance to stick him on as a sub recently speaks volumes about what he thinks of him. So much talent so would keep him and hope he can come good but if, say Villa, come in with a large bid I wouldn't be surprised if he goes.

Eddie - decent enough sub but will never make it in my view. If i had a choice, I would rather give Balogun a go as he has more potential. Eddie would do a fine job at somewhere like Palace or West Ham but not good enough for a top 3 team.

Jesus - small sample size as he's been injured this season but he doesn't look a natural finisher for me. His Man City stats back this up. Would love a proper 25 goal a season man but there aren't too many of those around unless you've got a spare 100m+ to blow.

Nelson - reckon he's offski and can't blame him

Vieira - lightweight and weak and just can't see him removing Odegaard or anyone else. It says it all about how Arteta feels about ESR if he would rather play him when we need a sub. See ya.

Elneny - heard they are going to name a ward after him as he is injured so often. He can go if we can get someone to pay his wages and medical bills.

AMN, Patino, Mari are also as good as gone with Balogun a maybe if we decide to keep Eddie.

UPDATE: forgot about Pepe, Lokonga, Tavares and Trusty but their days are clearly numbered as well.

I'm surprised at the amount of people who would replace Jesus. He's scored 10 goals whilst also being out for 4 months after needing surgery. The guy brings some chaos to our attack as well as being able to get stuck into defenders. He's not gonna be a 30 goal a season striker but he can be a 20 goal a season striker. Given the goals we are getting from the rest, replacing him isn't a priority.

I'm not saying we can't do better but I'd be happy to see him leading the line again for us next season.

I think we need to buy competition for him, someone who offers a slightly different skill set and pushes him to the point he's not a guaranteed starter. No need to sell him though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I think that's a fair comment. Hopefully they're doing their homework and can find that player without having to spend a fortune on someone like Toney.

Arsenal haven't had a reliable aerial dimension to their attack since Giroud left.

A proper bruiser who ticks all the boxes required of a target man is exactly what we need.

Toney offers all of that. Plus prior experience in the league.

We've been able to afford some of the largest transfer outlays over the past 5-6 seasons. And it's only a matter of time before someone else snaps him up.

How much could he possibly cost?

We need replacements for the following in my view :

Matt Turner - a bit too shaky as a backup.

Rob Holding - a good lad, just not good enough for this standard.

Kieran Tierney - I'd like him to stay but I think he's off.

Mohamed Elneny - a good guy but we need a Partey alternative desperately & he isn't it. Jorginho is an alternative to Xhaka really, not Partey.

Fabio Vieira - maybe a loan, but too lightweight right now for our team. The replacement can be a more versatile role as Trossard & ESR can back up Odegaard too.

Eddie Nketiah - he's done a job but he's just not at the level, we should sell him & Balogun & get a quality alternative to Jesus.

We don't need an alternative to Saka, I don't know why people say that when we have Reiss Nelson.

Ivan Toney would not be cheap, but I do think he's a good shout who would offer us a different option. ✔

Partey has 2-3 bad games, and you write him off. I can't understand fans like this.

Arsenal linked with Cancelo now.

Trying to buy City's team from 2021 is a novel idea but KdB will be about 40 when he's ready to move on.

Rice will probably end up at Chelsea because they will pay the 100 to 120 million asking price

Arsenal will only offer 50m or something like that

I think Toney will have a lot of teams interested in him which means Brentford will be able to ask for whatever they want.

He's got 2 years left on his contract so Brentford will probably keep him for another year and then maybe sell him next summer unless he pushes to move.

Wouldn't be surprised to see numbers like £75m reported for him. Would love for us to go for him though as I definitely think he's the profile and calibre of forward we need to be looking at next summer.

He is likely to get a long ban,I doubt anyone will pay serious money this summer and then he is in his final year
