Ange, has he impressed you so far?

I know he's yet to properly take training or put his stamp on the team, being still very early in his charge of Spurs, but listening to players we are being linked with, like Sancho, alternative Laporte, Maddison, Ndicka, Maguire, Joao Felix etc...

Does this sound like a planned approach to anyone else?

This is almost as bad as any previous transfer dealings we had. Aimless and without understanding what is the system the manager wants to implement?

It almost feels like Levy is still in charge and he is fired up his Championship Manager 2000 and picking random players to bid for?

Ok he may have updated his CM2k to the latest patch so he has the latest players, but who is in charge right now with transfer activities at the club?

This lack of due diligence could see us easily waste money on players we don't need, and have no money for the ones we do need?

Does anyone understand this obsession with Utd players, specially Sancho and Maguire?

Are we looking to help Utd offload their undesirables?

Not very impressive for me so far, but it is still very early on.

Logged in just to say what an embarrassing, logic-lacking article

You expect logic on this board?

Sharticle

Not officially in the job for another three weeks but I'm so unimpressed with the way he's operated so far. Ditch him. Not worth it.

This is a new low in terms of fan judgement. This is a proper sharticle because none of us have anything to base our opinions on. He's neither good nor bad. To be honest, I hope fans don't get on his back early on. Next year will still represent something of a transition for us both in terms of tactical learning and recruitment so there has to be a bedding in period. I'm much more inclined to be patient with Ange than I ever was with Jose and Conte because he's a front foot project man that needs time to do his thing. Jose and Conte have never, ever been THAT type of coach. So if the likes of Sandy come on here accusing me of backing certain managers more than others, it's because I'm more like to be patient with a man needs patience in order to do his thing than I ever am with manager's labelled 'win now'. The clue is in their label. If they can't do that, they're not going to suddenly become project men.

Re: Sancho, this is the first I've heard us linked to him but based on his Dortmund exploits, I still think there is a good player in there, it's just a big risk as you don't know if he's gone the same way as Dele.

Need to be buying players on the up rather than hoping to revive careers.

Need to try to get back to the strategy under Jol. Get players young and offer them the chance to develop. Sell them to the bigger clubs until we get back to being established.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But do you see what you're doing here?

You want to get back to that model, but when Levy does this and sells players we've improved etc, our fans label the club as lacking ambition and just focusing on money

If we keep hold of the players, then we accuse levy of holding onto players too long and things going stale

If levy buys older players then we accuse them of not having scouts doing their jobs

If we spend too much money,on 1 player, again we blame our scouts for not being more like Brighton where they should be unearthing unknown gems

If we spend little on unknown players, our fans accuse them of lacking ambition

Don't get me wrong, I hate levy as much as the next man, and all these issues are caused by him making a rod for his own back

But my god we as fans are unstable...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s because I know under Levy we are effectively screwed.

We won’t/ can’t sign players that are ready to go so we need to go back to the youth model.

I was stupid to think under Jose AND then Conte was Levy’s last chance to back them financially and get ready to go players - he didn’t.

I didn’t expect Bale, Berba or Modric to turn down their moves tbf

This comment only reinforces the point Number 8ecoglou was making.

Levy has done a lot of good at times. We have had a lot of highly successful signings and Poch's team was built on signings like Walker, Rose, Verts, Aldi, Dier Dembele, Son, Eriksen, Alli, Wanyama that cost no more than £22m each and on average about £10m.

"Levy's gonna feck it all up" is just another lazy generalisation and a statement that ignores many facts. That is not to say he wont feck it up, but at this moment in time we do not know! and if you do profess to know then you can class the appointment of Postecoglou as a failure because Levy appointed him, in which case it doesnt matter who we now buy, if you follow your logic to a natural conclusion.

Just want to take this opportunity to say I'm not impressed with the new DOF who we haven't even hired yet. The guy has been totally anonymous and done nothing for the club so far.

We won fack all with those players and Levy failed to push us on from a position of strength every time. He also facked up the signing of several top players who may (or may not) have been the final pieces of the jigsaw.

Levy has a losers mentality and over the years it has seeped throughout the club. Levy is risk averse at all costs, he would rather return a profit than win silverware, and therein lies our problems.
