Quite upset at his passing actually

Lovely lovely man, met him at school when he did a talk there when I was in my early teens, he was Scotland manager at the time, yet he was so down to earth, and he left a lasting impression on me.

Euro 96 and France 98...both major memories for me as a young lad, wouldn't have happened if wee Broony hadn't got us to those finals.

The joy at getting that penalty against England at Wembley, to the desolation when McAllister missed it and Gascoigne scored

Could see he was nervous as fook ahead of the Brazil game, they scored early, then John Collins tucked that penalty away......we were about 15mins away from getting a draw with a side considered the best in the world at the time, only for the unluckiest of goals to go in off Tom Boyd...absolutely gutting.

I started going to pubs around the time we played England in the playoffs in late 1999...so again, wee Broony and the Scotland team front and centre at a bit of a milestone point in my life. Scholes ripped us apart at Hampden the wee bastirt, but we were absolutely superb at Wembley, big Don scored with his header first half, Christian Dailly's header late on.....never been so sad to win at Wembley

When he left the Scotland setup, everything went downhill, the Bertie Vogts debacle followed and so many people lost their connection with the national team after that. We've never really got close to reaching the heights we got to under wee Broony, hopefully under Clarke and with this current team we can.

At a sportsman’s dinner Broonie explained why he didn’t play Ally McCoist much. Craig considered himself a positive thinker. He didn’t like Ally’s excessive use of the word “can’t”. Particularly when Ally kept shouting “Hey Broonie, why are you no playin’ me ya can’t”
