A brilliant window

We are not going to be challenging for anything over the next couple of years in my opinion (mind you stranger things have happened at chelsea).

So this summer window has been full of necessary steps after previous mistakes being made by previous ownership and this current regime who came in like a bull in a china shop.

Last year I said we should have assessed and maybe signed one or two players whilst promoting home grown and some youth in colwill, hall, mount, gallagher, james, chalobah amongst others.

The owners decided to do the complete opposite.

However this window has been good at clearing out dead wood and players who haven't been up to it and/or want to leave.

We will finish behind utd and arsenal this year and no doubt their fans will rub in our faces the signings of mount and havertz no matter how they fare, but this summer window is a necessary step that will hopefully bear fruit over the coming years.

Very well done so far to the owners who i've been critical of so far.

The youngsters have potential, they may be highly talented but we have to see how that plays out.

How important is the acquisition of Caicedo to the project?
I heard from some Arsenal fans that they intend to fight for him and they feel confident despite Fabrizio saying Chelsea are leading in the race for the player.
Some MU fans also believe their hat is in the ring too.
Great news for Brighton, not so good for us.

I expect quite important or we wouldn't be going for him but according to the rumours I have seen, he is keen on us and a fee of 75m has been agree.

Until anything is official then we have to wait and see. If we don't get him I expect we will have another target lined up.

Brighton by all accounts now want 100m for Ciacedo:

? Gallagher + 50m: ?.

Who do people think we are better than currently out of these:

City
Utd
Arsenal
Liverpool
Newcastle
Spurs
Brighton
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs? I'd take them out of the equation Nick. Their squad of last season was heavily reliant on goals from Kane and to a lesser extent Son - other than those two, there isn't one player from last seasons squad that I felt would have strengthened our squad.

Maddison is a decent addition for them though, if he can stay fit. They need to add a lot more quality to their squad to compete for top 4 in my opinion!

I’d agree with this.

About £200 million recouped in player sales so far this window and counting. Doubt that figure gets banded about too much as it's far too positive for the media. They'd rather keep telling everyone Mudryk is an £85 million player when in actuality we paid closer to £60 million for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
plus about 100mill a year in saved wages so far. so ffp is tackled. the signings that come in now are in a different ffp year so being sensible with wages and may 2/3 good signings more we should be done for now there are still more to go out like Pulisic Lukaku Ziyech. get Colwill bedded in with help from Thiago, Gusto is greta cover for reece and if all is right caceido with Enzo and maybe gallagher will give us real bite in midfield we have hall and madueke for wide forwards as well as mudryk, i hope we can get Vlahovic in give us some much needed power up front along with Nkunku and Jackson Broja should be fit for preseason too. Looks like we are keeping Kepa and i think a good back up on a free could be de gea.
