Well worth a watch if you haven't already. I was struck by a number of things whilst watching it.
Firstly, Alli speaks very very well, especially given the nature of the subject.
He address the issue of addiction to sleeping pills and says their use is widespread in the game. This caught my attention as I'd not long ago read about snus being used by footballers: https://www.vice.com/en/article/n7ev5q/its-ridiculously-prevalent-british-football-is-having-a-strange-love-affair-with-snus
It seems to me that there's some potentially very worrying trends emerging behind the scenes in top level football.
I couldn't help but think about Jadon Sancho's massive drop-off since Dortmund and how similar his career trajectory seems to be compared to Alli. Sancho was obviously sent away to improve both his physical and mental fitness you can't help but think the majority of his struggles in a United shirt are likely down to his own personal issues.
If there's any big take-away from Alli's interview, it's that I hope the way in which fans and media pundits talk about players' form and performances is considered more carefully.

Very sad watch but glad he has come out.
Why are you surprised he speaks well?? His dad is a millionaire Nigerian and sent him to a top private school as a kid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where did I express surprise that he spoke well? I was praising him for speaking on such personal and challenging subjects as well as he did; he was thoughtful, measured, honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am just surprised an emphasis was placed that he spoke really well. Believe it or not this is a big issue out there. I meant no harm. Thanks for explaining.

What is a big issue, Peoples accents?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not entirely accent. But people hear a black or mixed raced individual that speaks well going you speak really well.

The stuff that was on social media from our fan base when he signed/didn’t hit the ground running and then loaned out was poison.
Now the fans who were critical are now praising him open interview.
Always been a massive fan, Martinez went to scout him at MK and came back with Brendan Galloway. Can Dyche reignite his love for the game and form, also hope we support him however his future goes. Everton that.

Clearly has/had his demons, explains why his form dipped so massively. Hopefully for the fella he comes back to a similar level.to his first season at spurs, wish him all the best👍

My comment had nothing to do with his race. I've never seen or heard Alli speak before, and given the subject matter, I was impressed with how well he carried himself. He was thoughtful and reflective in a way we don't normally associate with football players. That struck me as being at odds with the way he's maybe sometimes been portrayed.
Other players I find equally impressive in interviews, such as Bamford, Maddison, Antonio. Not because they're speaking on difficult personal issues, but because they speak like normal individuals rather than media-trained robots. It's refreshing to hear and see them present themselves openly and naturally and allows us to see a lot more personality.

I listen to a lot of footie related stuff.
One thing that has been mentioned by a lot of players old and new is how they can't sleep after games.
All seem to suggest it's the feeling of hyperness etc that you simply don't come down from for hours.
Throw in a cup type win and it can last a few days apparently.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I suffer with that when I train or play small sided games in the week and then the next workday is a real slog, to the point I won't play games that kick off too late now as I get into my 30s. I can't imagine how much heightened that must be on the back of playing a PL or CL game with a huge crowd and actual stakes.

I just think these guys play too much football and the TV companies having games on at all times really doesn’t help.
The caffeine stimulants they take pre game then makes it harder for them to get to sleep naturally. Stop the stimulants, in fact ban them. Get games back to more routine kick off times and reduce the amount they have to play. We’re destroying these guys at the top level and we will end up doing it to the women to eventually.
Big respect to Dele, I hope it all goes much better for him now

What is a big issue out there? Sexual abuse?
I haven't seen the interview yet, just heard a little on the radio earlier. I heard he was sent to Africa to learn discipline - was that where the abuse took place?

No....before that at his real mums house....she's is or at least was at that time and alcoholic and had lots of people in and out of the house.
