For a couple of years the old hoodoos, inexplicable runs and hauntings by former players seemed to be consigned to history by Nuno. Briefly, once again we could enjoy victories over clubs like Brighton, Dave Edwards failed to score against us in the FA Cup, we even beat Chorley (just).
However the last couple of seasons have become much more "Wolvesy" again and nothing would be more typically Wolves than for Gary O'Neil, off the back of a couple of impressive results to return to his former club and hand his successor his first league win.
Andoni Iraola is under pressure, winless and coming in to the game on the back of three defeats, the last a hammering by fellow strugglers Everton, defeat to his predecessor could mean his short stay in England comes to a premature end. Bournemouth's new owners invested in the summer, 4th highest net spend in the Premier League and no victories to show for it will not please them.
There's no doubt that Wolves have the edge in player quality and you would hope that will be enough to see us through, though an Alex Scott equaliser off the bench for the cherries would be very Wolvesy indeed.
Goldi's prediction 1-1

By the way cinci, not sure where you got the idea that we were playing 4-4-2.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A certain Mr O'Neil actually stated on MNF (Sky in the UK) that we started as a back 4 with RAN pushed up & Toti as left back - guess you don't watch too carefully on peacock then

Didn't know he had said that. It was fairly obvious early on. I shall await Wolfies apology.

He did, very clearly. Said he expected Bournemouth to play with a single pivot so thought pressing in a 442 would work best, however they set up differently and it left Gomes and Traore unsure on where to press, and led to us being exposed for their goal.
