This season was meant to be Arsenal's year. A fairly decent season last year, added to with more huge investments in the summer. Meanwhile, their north London neighbours, lost their best player and the best striker in the league, as well as bringing in a new manager.
Postecoglou has done in 3 months, what it's taken Arteta 4 years to do.
Arsenal had a much better base to build on than Spurs from last season, but you could argue that Spurs actually have more players in a combined XI this season.
Starting with the goalkeepers, Arteta has royally f'ed this up so far for Arsenal. Ramsdale had a decent season last year, but Arteta has always wanted Raya and has kicked the Englishman to the curb. Whilst Spurs now have Vicario between the sticks, who has been one of the standout keepers so far this season.
Back 4 wise is tight as Saliba probably is a shout, but you can't look past the Spurs backline at present.
Midfield-wise is where Arsenal have dropped in quality from last season. Rice has been very good, but Odegaard is performing nowhere near last seasons heights, Maddison is clear by some distance at present.
Son speaks for himself up front, but I would give the Arsenal wide men the nod in the wide attacking areas. Even if they haven't quite got up to speed yet.
---------------------Vicario
Porro--------Romero------VdV----------Udogie
-------------------Bissouma
------------Maddison--------Rice
Saka----------------Son---------------Martinelli
8-3 Spurs at present.
9-3 when you factor in how Ange has outperformed Mikel.
No team has ever not got top 4 from Tottenhams current position, so you'd have to say they are a shoe in for Champions League football. It's one of those inevitable occurrences, like Jose winning a trophy wherever he goes.
Are Spurs set to win the Premier League this season and if so by how many points?
Have Spurs overtaken Arsenal?

Whilst silva and saliba ,and even still van dijk are playign at this level, that's just an insane statement.

Mad how Arsenal have conceded the same as Spurs yet haven't a single defensive player of the 6. Spurs have played the awful promoted sides in that time. Romero and Porro over Saliba and White is just wrong tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only you DJM could put White and Saliba above a current WC winner🤣
White is okay but only that, Saliba is a very good player and holds Arsenal defence together but is still developing. Romero is the finished article🤔
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most people would pick Saliba over Romero.
A few months ago Spurs fans were dreading a relegation battle. Now nobody can get in their team 🤷♂️
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Romero is light years ahead of Saliba. And Ben White is bog standard average. Eric Dier mark Ii with a tan and blond hair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Romero is not light years ahead of Saliba Sandy, have a bloody word with yourself. You yourself spent last season coating Romero as being overrated when us more knowledgable fans told you he was quality but surrounded by crap. Now you can see how good he is you’ve changed your tune. But Saliba is also quality and if I was picking a combined 11 it would probably be Saliba and VDV as the CB pairing but very tight on Romero who is also top quality.
I’d have Rice and Bissouma in the MF 2, Son through the middle up top, Saka and Martinelli either side, Vicario in net. Udogie and Porro as the full backs.
Ange as coach on account of Arteta being an utterly detestable little prik.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Romero has upped his game 100 per cent since last season Ace. He is a top quality this season. Spurs have the best two CBs in the Prem in my opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Madness. He was slagging off their defence in pre season and 9 games in they are the best in the Prem.

suggesting that Saliba should be in the team ahead of Romero is wild
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Come on now, Saliba is a good player. He'd be a decent back up for any side out there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yup he is good. would be capable back up for Romero

Saliba is the reason our title bid folded. Hes top quality and would start for most clubs. Hes really that good. If he had a white shirt on with a cockerel standing on the ball the scored for Sunderland against Liverpool in 2009, then you'd all be saying hes the best

I notice all the bleating about Ley has died down after years of talking absolute bollox every day about not spending money, which is a fringe benefit of Spurs winning the league on Monday night.

Pre season Spurs did not have Micky VDV. Best pairing in the Prem this season by a countrymile.
