The great Mason Mount mystery

The team is completely void of confidence and form and quite honestly looks like they have never met each other most weeks.
Tonight yet again we are struggling massively against a pot 4 side at home and we've got a new £55m attacking midfielder on the bench and he doesn't even bring him on???

Remind me again why he was our first transfer of the summer and the club seem hell bent on getting that one done above the others? Does the manager even fancy him? Surely he's not given up on him already?

In a long line of transfers that need to be investigated for their sheer ineptitude on the clubs part this seems like yet another one to add to the list.

Is there anything this club is actually good at apart from lining up sponsorship deals? I genuinely don't think there is any more.

Wanted Frenkie De Jong. Wouldn't give up on him all summer. Signed Casemiro.

This is just basically us in a nutshell. What is remotely similar in FDJ and Casemiro's games?

…..

Nothing. Which is why they play different midfield positions.

Casemiro was not bought as an alternative to FDJ. He was bought to fill the gap of DM.

And I bet you already know that.

We must be one of richest but poorly run football operation in world footy. Imagine running a commercial business like we treat our football operation!

Sad to say but relegation is the only true wake-up call!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For who. The owners or the clubs admin or the football and coaching staff or a lot of the supporters/fans?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Definitely for the owners to wake up and realize Man Utd is football first and foremost. Might even serve as a wake up call to the small section of the fanbase too.

The owners don’t care, so long as 75,000 keep going to matches every week.

Just a note on mount. I do wonder if there's something more sinister going on with him in terms of he played a lot of minutes early on in his career, has picked up a few knocks and prematurely has lost that extra yard that he had.

He use to be so nippy and had that extra step on players when he first came into the chelsea team. He's had a few injuries but I wonder if now he's that little bit older he doesn't have that over other players anymore.

Just a thought, but he just seems leggy when I see him now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be honest I thought this too. When you look at clips of him when he was younger he was a bit more nippy without being fast per se. We saw a similar thing with Rooney though that was more his body composition really. He was always stocky by the teenage & early 20’s Rooney was still slimmer up top and would carry the ball and drive at people more.

Missing the point I was making VC.

If we'd have got FDJ we wouldn't have got Casemiro. That's the point.

Why not have 3/4 players who do the same role on the shortlist. 2 or 3 other who have similar skill set to FDJ.

This transfer approach has cost us nearly a billion quid now. It's a shambles.

My point was I don't believe we'd have signed Casemiro had we got FDJ and as you correctly said they are totally different type of players.

Everyone else seemed to grasp it. It wasn't meant to be a riddle.

But you made an insinuation you did not need to. If that was your point you did not need to go into the fact they are not similar players.

We all knew that. The fact is we went after FDJ all summer, couldn’t get him so filled another position that needed filling as well.

Not sure how that was poor from the club.

Still can't believe we offloaded Mount Jorghinho & Havertz for good wedge to direct rivals

Or at least you will be when we get our shat together..signs are there already

What was poor about from the club was spending 60 million and huge wages on a 30 year old who was on the slide.
