The funniest part is you actually let a really good keeper (World Cup winning)go, who played in goal for villa, saving very well against oderguard and replaced him with massively inferior players like ramsdale (and raya, who was decent til he joined you).

You fracking muppets(I’m not laughing too hard as we replaced ddg with a clown with goalkeeper gloves, so I feel the pain)

It was past Raya before he even had chance to dive ,Im no fan of Raya but its a bit harsh to blame him for that one

Let's face it, Raya could concede the most unstoppable goal of all time and people would still criticise him.

This is why keepers train, to improve reflexes. Its one of those he didn't have time to think, just react fast enough.

What is obvious is that teams have sussed that he’s dodgy on crosses and are crowding him at corners etc

Nope, I was open to what this guy could do for us, particularly his acclaimed distribution - but so far I’ve seen nothing special.

He was neat & tidy the rest of the game, making a couple of solid saves - but in the big moments you are looking for your keeper to “turn up” & I’m seeing no signs of this from Raya.

I actually think the “competition” Arteta has generated between Raya & Ramsdale has made the form of both goalkeepers worse…

I FIRMLY prefer Ramsdale to Raya any day, but I'll be the first to admit that NO goalie is intentionally saving that. The only way one saves that is if they randomly anticipated it or had their face there.

The point made above about opposition crowding the goalie as he is chit on crosses is much more concerning. We were NOT conceding from set pieces..and now we are and teams are targeting that. Raya is too timid and players know they can target him.
