He actually did well at Derby considering what went on there. They would not have gone down if they had not been deducted all those points.

He should have stayed there.

Classic example of a clueless board/owner wanting a 'name ex player' over a candidate that was actually qualified for the job. Rooney should've stuck with Derby and earned his stripes. Just like Fat Frank and Slippy G for us, Neville at Valencia, Henry......

To be fair, he was decent when his job was being a footballer

Been a disaster for him at Birmingham. Not sure where he goes next? I suppose a lower league club will want him because of the name.

He did a pretty good job at Derby

He almost pulled off a miracle at Derby, so he can’t be all bad.

I do think he seems more suited to a coaching role. I’d imagine he’d be a good foil between a manager and the players.
