Havertz

It's nice to see everyone's in good spirits with Arsenal in top form at the moment because this place does get extremely irrational and childish when we are not flying high 🤣

Anyway let's talk about Havertz...

I think he's gone under the radar in the last 2 wins and would go as far as to say we probably don't win that Liverpool game without him.

Yes he didn't score but he was a problem all game for Liverpool, coming short at the right times to link the play, which freed up space for Martinelli to move central at times (seems to be a new tactic Arteta is employing). Running in behind and matching Liverpools center backs physically when needed, he gave Konate a torrid time. His intelligence off the ball was very evident in that game and he repeated the trick yesterday against Westham.

So are opinions on him shifting or do people still think Arteta is a clown for signing him?

Jesus is far better finisher than Havertz. But neither are really up to the standard needed. Havertz however is now a midfield player, and we need to judge him as one and not expect him to put up striker numbers. Havertz played as false no.9 against Liverpool. What Havertz gives us is an aerial presence that is absolutely key to fight against teams who set up in a low block. After saying all that, I feel that ESR makes a better no.8 if he can get fit/stay fit.

Havertz is not a good striker, so I think he is surplus to requirements in the summer if ESR can establish himself.

I don't think Havertz is good in the air offensively at all, but we are agreed that he is surplus to requirements in the summer - the problem is that with 4 years left on his contract at £280k a week(!) I think he will be incredibly hard to shift. 👀

Real Madrid have interest.

Havertz is a mainstay in the national team and his profile will easily get him a move if we want to sell.

Well let’s hope Real Madrid maintain their interest, because yes, they are one of the few clubs that might be stupid enough to pay his ludicrous salary.

Bayern are also interested.

Yeah, I think Bayern are less likely to be prepared to pay £280k a week for Kai Havertz but here's hoping. 🤞

Rubbish. He’s on £280k/week. He’s not going anywhere unless we are willing to make a big loss on him and he is prepared to take a big wage cut.

Also Arteta clearly rates him and doubt he has any interest in selling

So Arteta rates him but no one else does in the world.
