Tottenham and Villa

Villa have Europe and a few tough fixtures.

Tottenham have a death triple where they could score nil point.

Dare to dream?

FA Cup and a CL spot ain’t bad.

I think Villa will be the one to implode if either of them do. Europa Conference games thrown into a very difficult looking run in.

It's our own games where I think we will come unstuck.

Brentford A

Chelsea A
Brighton A
Palace A
Bournemouth A

Liverpool H
Arsenal H
Newcastle H
Burnley H
Sheff Utd H

It's a very tall order to expect 7/8 wins from those games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah can’t see it, 9 points max away, probably 7 though and 12/13 at home
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We have won 9 of our last 12 games though incredibly, even though it doesn't feel like it, just to go back to your point above.

Fulham and City only defeats of 2024 so far. The damage was done prior to Christmas for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you do it then it will be well deserved, I think you have very tough fixtures, only slightly easier than ours
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As I said above.....if we catch someone it will be Villa I think. They have the hardest run in of the three of us and also have European football too.

6th is still looking most likely for us though. if we can beat Brentford and Chelsea then Villa and Spurs might get a bit nervy though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah absolutely, although I would hope we’ve done our job at home to Luton and Forest

its a waste of time looking at fixtures on paper to predict Man United results. Most United fans would predict United to beat the likes of Palace, Bournemouth, Fulham and Brighton at home too. And they didnt happen. By the same token how many of us actually thought that United would beat Liverpool at home (albeit in the FA Cup. And who still thinks after yesterday that PL game coming up vs Liverpool might be a bit different). To even think about CL qualification we will need at least 13 points at home for starters. And hope that Villa or Spurs capitulate.

The fact is that dont know what we are going to get from United week on week. Which is the main thing that has to change under ETH if he wants a future at Old Trafford.

The return of Maguire, AWB, Mount, Amad and Hojlund surely gives reason to be optimistic.

Spurs have a game in hand, the GD advantage, the head to head advantage and the games I would argue are similar.

Villa have to play - Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and City as well.

They also have Europe so will be less rested

Maguire has been solid and AWB is a good defender. And Hojland is our only proper CF so he is vital and must play avery game. So yes them 3 back in contention is vital for the squad.

Return of Amad and Mount? No, not really TBH.

Before this weekend, Opta stats had the chances of finishing top 4 as:

Spurs - 55%
Villa - 41%
United - 4%

It’s bound to have improved since the weekend and 5th is likely good enough, but you are still big underdogs

To be honest Man Utd are not good enough to win the CL until we get players who can score regularly and not concede soft goals so it would be a bonus if we make it. I am now more looking at the EL spots. Anything else and hoping we win the FA Cup.
