Arsenal have really shot up this league under Arteta, but they have also shot up the real league. United providing the comic relief as usual and Chelsea look facked in so many ways. Thoughts?

"differing slant"

Yeah. They are large, but when you consider the revenue the clubs are generating? I think UEFA's 70% wage to revenue ratio will put a lot of clubs into trouble. Especially those not in the Champions League. Man Utd and Chelsea look particularly vulnerable.

Liverpool total salaries stand at £373m per year
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's staff costs, not total salaries.

The article is about the wage bill, not total salaries(which includes the tea lady) or staff costs (which include the tea lady's medical insurance, travel allowance and sheet).

Do you think Liverpool pay the tea lady £10m a year or £20k a year?

Exactly.

I've already explained why your figures are. Your figures have no beating on mine.

What is it exactly you think you've proven here?

Don't you get it? Players salaries are never disclosed!

So your argument in the OP comes from a completely false premise!

Most top clubs have youth academies, coaches and staff that maintain and run stadia. So those costs are always similar between clubs.

The variation in the total salaries comes from wages paid to the players. And you can see from REAL figures that its:

1. Man City
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Man Utd
5. Spurs
6. Arsenal
7. Aston Villa

So if you wanted to look at players who are overperforming? You have your list!

And UEFA look at total salaries for sanctions!
