Call me xenophobic but I don't want a foreign manager managing England, especially one as good as Pep. It feels like pressing the cheat button. We should stick with England managers and if there aren't any good ones then that's tough luck. I guess we just need to produce better ones, don't we?

Ireland’s Declan Rice is OK though?
Seriously though, I totally agree on the manager nationality point. Felt the same when we had Berti Vogts managing us Scots. When it gets to that stage I really don’t see the point of International football.

Exactly. I talked about my disapproval of foreign managers managing England 10-15 years ago on another football forum and people thought I was being anti-foreign and unreasonable. At the end of the day, it's an international competition between different countries and their countrymen. I know the managerial position is a paid one, unlike the players, but it's still integral to the whole team and more important than any other player. As such they should therefore be of the same nationality IMO.
I can about accept foreign members of the backroom staff (Hasselbaink in our case), just not the manager.

They should try it. They might even get to play in a World Cuppa.

Bielsa manages Uruguay who are rivals of Argentina. Beat them since being in charge also.
