Brennan Johnson?

Seems he gets a ton of abuse on social media (even from Spurs fans) and has deleted his accounts? Ange definitely has faith in him and has defended him pretty strongly.
He’s still pretty young and there’s no reason why he can’t come good, hopefully yesterday’s winner will give him a confidence boost.

Should have bought Anthony Gordon… when we had the chance… recruitment wanted him… Levy said no… bought Johnson instead!!

There's been so much chat about the way we play as team, high press, high line, no set piece coach & creating a winner's mentality etc that it feels as though there's been a lack of individual coaching. I think this is part of the issue with guys like BJ.
The club has clearly made it its policy to sign young players (& that's fine) but I can't help noticing that despite playing more of an attacking style its obvious that there are still lots of induvial errors, lack of structure (esp at set pieces) and very few players who you could actually say have improved under Ange.
Other than VDV maintaining excellent performance levels you could argue that since the great start to last season the likes of Vic, Romero, Bissouma, Sarr, Bents, Madders, BJ, Udogie, Son, Richie & Werner have all stagnated or gone backwards.
Raises a few concerns about the likes of BJ, Bergvall, Gray & Odobert moving forward.
Perhaps a little more coaching from Ange to some of these young players would be a bit more productive than talking endlessly talking about what he won in pub leagues and what his ambitions are ?

You dont know that.
Gordon went to NUFC having 4 goals and 0 assists in his 32 PL games for Everton the previous season.
BJ had 8 PL goals and 4 assists the season before we signed him.
SO we were possibly picking between the 2 of them, similar ages and career progression and price.
Both were a punt, but with hindsight suddenly everyone's a fecking expert.
We should have signed Palmer and Halaand aged 12 blah blah.

I tell you what, that Clinton NJie was a top class player.
Lewis Holtby was a top Premier League player.
Now if only Danjuma was given a chance, he’d have shown everyone how good he is.

Bale was shiiiit too. We should have listened to Redknapp and sold him, cut our losses on that £6m outlay
Walker as well. How many brainfarts in defence did he have. But what do you expect for £4m. Whatever happened to him.
Son too £22m on someone id never heard of, then 4 goals in his first season. Stealing a living at Spurs .
I have no idea why we kept faith in these players, they amounted to nothing in the end.

I hate to use Arsenal as an example BUT Legohead comes across a "hands on/training ground" manager and just look at the improvement in the likes of Saliba, Gabriel, White, Odegard, Saka, Martinelli & Havertz
He doesn't sit around chirping about what he won in the same way Ange does and he's far more productive driving his team on from the touchline.

Rewind to his second season, when they came 8th and most goooons wanted him out. Extolling his virtues then were you?
If you are going to case study Arteta, then at least give Ange the same timeframe to improve us as Arteta had. Everyone has their own style.

Im fine with Ange.... dont think he'll last but was just pointing out Legohead looks a far more enaged/hands on type more in the mould of the Likes of Pep, Klopp, Emry than Ange... who seems to preach what football should be without appearing to do much about it
I'm a big fan of Ange "theory" its the "practical " side that leaves me underwhelmed.at times..... we'll see
Maybe this will be the game it all comes off.... a Thumping 5-0 home win, Chances galore, lots of possession & clinical finishing.... I live in hope

I think Brennan comes across as a really nice lad, speaks well and inteliigently in press conference. He's not a mercenary type, he clearly cares and according to Ange trains hard and is willing to improve. Therefore I'm ashamed that fans gave him so abuse that he had to delete his account. It's embarrassing as a spurs fan to be honest, is that really going to help the lad ?
With all that said, is he good enough to be in a top 6 side, no unfortunately. His technique and decision making is poor, he's not particularly strong so even though he's quick he can't use it effectively. I don't think there are many teams he'd get a start, which Sums it up really.
I'll still be supporting and wanting him to do well though, as I did Emerson royal who was a terrible footballer. As long as they are showing a willingness to improve and good attitude then they'll get the support
