In 32 PL seasons, the eventual champions have beaten their nearest rival away from home 10 times, and only 5 times since our unbeaten season in 03/04. The most common outcome when 1st travels to 2nd place is an away defeat, happening 16 of the previous 32 seasons.
Pep’s only win at Anfield was during covid when Liverpool were not challenging for the title. Klopp never won a league game at the Etihad. So why was the narrative that Arsenal needed to beat City at the Etihad to have a chance at winning the league? I don’t recall any pundit ever challenging this idiotic logic. Why?
Winning away at your closest title rival

Easier said than done. How can you go all out with an OAP jorginho in midfield and a broken down jesus up front?
Also what players did city have missing? It was just the goalie from what I remember, and that Ortega is a very good replacement.

Kyle walker was out. I remember that. Id have to look up the teams for others. I just remember that was the big thing going into it.

Theb came back equalised went behind again, equalised and ended the game the stronger of the 2. We took them on. Thats the point. We went and had a go. Yous went and defeneded for your lives hoping for a bit of luck
Fack me even bernardo silva spoke about it. A guy actually playing in the games.

No. The point is you all seem to have a bee in your bonnet about being criticised for your performance that day. People criticised because of the negative approach. Nobody criticised us because we had a go and but ultimately didnt get the win.
You play negatively you can expect criticism when it doesnt work out. Its always been that way. Its not some arsenal conspiracy.

You'd think Liverpool beat Man City away in the league every other season the ways there fans go on and go and on!

Strange thing to put on an article written by an arsenal fan questioning why you are being criticised for not winning there. I'll leave you all to agree with 1 another that the worlds against you.

Well done on trying and failing
Our game plan was almost perfect and nearly won us the game. In such games fine margins are the difference and we fell a smidgen short. But still got the point that left us top. That was not the decisive moment by any means.
We tried to win the game and had a game plan as good as Liverpools.

But thats not how most neutrals see it and thats the point im trying to raise.
This whole article is about why did arsenal get criticised for playing a certain way that day and the other week. I have simply pointed out that as a neutral, I felt you played negatively, as did many other neutrals. If you and all the other arsenal fans dont agree thats fine. But stop getting you knickers in a twist about other fans opinions on that game.
