Incredible bad luck to lose both defensive midfielder to long term knee injuries within a few days of each other.
I know there’s going to be a reaction about the summer window but you can’t plan for this and nor should you.
Possibly a shame Gyabi is out on loan as he has been impressing by all accounts.
Going to be tough without them both now, hopefully Tanaka can adapt to the role of holding midfielder which isn’t really what he’s used to.
At least everyone will have to stop moaning about the midfield being overly defensive I guess.

There's no sugar coating our situation.
One more injury to a defensive player and top six will be a dream.
We already have trouble scoring so when the clean sheets dry up it won't be pretty. Our ownership has played the same game two years running, we've such a thin squad that Aaronson is first name on the team sheet.
Hope he sets up a couple and we were in but I'm not hopeful.

You have to remember Preston were top this time last season. Its far too early to think Sunderland will be up there challenging all season.
