All graft, no craft. Modern football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He likes dribblers with good close control though. I think he’d encourage Bruno and Amad to carry the ball a lot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruno’s dribbling is crap, though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’d want better, certainly in tight spaces. He might even prefer Bruno in midfield, tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruno deeper and Mainoo further forward?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’d have to see a different Mainoo, IMO. One with a lot more urgency and ready and prepared to bust a gut for 90 mins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck with that! He's naturally languid, and has a habit of switching off regularly. Highly able though but at what cost?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Mainoo will be totally transformed by Amorim, and I mean in a good way - commentators will be purring over him in the new year, saying how much more of a complete player he is etc

What's Amorim's English like - does he sound like a local??!!! I never felt comfortable listening to Erik, felt painful hearing him talk

If we beat Leicester Ruud will leave with a 100% win percentage.

I hope so, as there's a phenomenal young player with great potential. However, glimpses of magic shouldn’t overshadow the average or below-average displays that generate the hype. Work ethic and concentration are key, especially for a midfielder. Unfortunately, the general malaise within the club has allowed him to develop bad habits, which have become frustratingly clear on match days.

Still only 19, so room for loads of improvement, both in his game and mentally. It seriously felt at one stage like he was carrying the team somewhat, all our hopes were on him. I think he has suffered playing in such a poor team, and has been overplayed also.

For me there is true class there, and I am sure he will develop into a top professional.

I never said I liked his voice or accent, the Portuguese accent is horrid 😂

(I jest!)

He comes across as no-nonsense, though EtH’s disciplinarian reputation may have contributed to losing the players, a factor that’s difficult to fully appreciate. The bigger issue in his downfall could be a lack of clarity, with players unsure of expectations or simply losing faith in the approach.

For any new manager, winning over the group is crucial, identify group leaders, break up cliques, and remove any negative influences, even miserly sods with poor body language. Bring everyone back to basics with a strong work ethic, showing zero tolerance towards slackers (show them the door!). Clearly communicate the playing philosophy and stay committed to it. Above all, show passion and show that you care!
