Zinchenko...

Preston North End away in the League Cup tonight, a chance for rotation and to give less active players a run out. Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus should start in attack, Jorginho and Kiwior in defensive roles and there could be a debut for Tommy Setford in goal.

One of the questions is will Zinchenko play? The Ukrainian started the season in the team, but that one start plus a brief run out against Brighton and Hove Albion are the only appearances.

With Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori ahead of him, and young Myles Lewis Skelly also being preferred in the last couple of games, the situation is not looking great for Zinchenko. However, we have already seen injuries and suspensions leave us short. Given the squad size we cannot afford to carry a passenger yet Kieran Tierney is seemingly very unlikely to play. To add Zinchenko would be madness.

Anyone who has watched the Ukrainian national team regularly will have seen Zinchenko play the #8 role, something we haven't seen at club level at Arsenal. Tonight seems to be a good opportunity to give him time here and allow MLS another start in the left back role.

My team:
---------------Setford----------------
Nichols--Saliba--Kiwior--MLS
-------------Jorginho--------------
-----Nwaneri---Zinchenko-----
Jesus------Havertz----Sterling

However, it wouldn't surprise me to see more first teamers such as Rice, White, even Raya. Ismeal Kabia would be an option wide to allow Havertz to sit it out, or Nwaneri could play there with someone else coming into midfield. It will be an interesting line up, and hopefully one good enough to win.

Just remembered that Sterling plays for Arsenal there.

Has any other player played for Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Arsenal?

After asking AI:

"No, there hasn't been a footballer who has played for all four of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal. While there are players who have played for multiple clubs, no one has managed to play for all four of these specific teams."

Benayoun went close.

Kolo Toure also played for 3, and Danny Sturridge.

Also the fact that Sterling has been playing in the PL since 2011 and for England since 2012 (13 years and 12 years respectively) and is still under 30, is a bit crazy in my mind.

Would be happy enough with that team DJ, think it's a tough one with MLS cos it seems like he could have a higher ceiling so worth investing more time into but Zinchenko has shown in the past he can do a job in the squad so I don't think it's worth isolating him. Just tough when you can't trust him as a LB and not sur ehe's good enough for CM.
