Garnacho

Someone has to tell this little prlck that not everything has to be a shot.

So many times he had a runner on the outside and he just doesn't see him or an easy pass into the box and doesn't do it. He's greedy as hell, and it's something he needs to work on massively.

I would say this:

Let's see what Amorim can get out of these players, in particular our forwards and how much he can improve them.

Sure, today was frustrating, but Garnacho has only turned 20, and people already writing him off? 99% of players at that age are very inconsistent, and Garnacho seems to have more talent than most, if we can nurture and develop it properly.

Maybe it won't work out in the end, but far too soon to start writing him off.

Zirkzee needs a chance to settle in also, as do all the new signings. I have reservations about De Ligt also, Ugarte is still finding his feet, but this is a tough squad of players to join and try to hit the ground running.

Once Amorim is in and somewhat settled, if there's still no improvement in certain players, then we will no doubt see changes etc.

What I saw from both teams today is that there are mistakes in both of them, and loose passes are going cost both teams points.

I'm certainly not writing Garnacho off as a footballer and a winger. He's a good young player who had a bad game
today. It happens.

I am hugely sceptical he's good enough to play in an Amorim team though. I don't think the skill set of Garnacho and Rashford suit that style of football at all. That was the point I was making.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbh I hope Amorim doesn’t continue with Rashford as a regular. He simply isn’t good enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Didn't think he was the worst of the 3 today personally. Not that he was great becyhe wasn't but thought Garnacho was way worse. He messed up everything.

I think it's coming to the end for Rashy as much as it pains me to say it. He's lost his way and struggling to get it back for whatever reason. I still think his ceiling is higher than any of our other forwards as he proved with 21 goals and then 31 goals the following season. The trouble is that players seems to have disappeared now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wasn’t the worst but he wasn’t good either and hasn’t been for the best part of two years now.

He’s but as quick as he used to be either and doesn’t have the football brain to compensate.

When did get 21 & 31 in back to back seasons? Not sure that is correct. I recall him having a stinker before his 30 goal season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He didn't have a stinker that season. It's a common misconception. He got something like 25/26 G/A and was very competitive among his peers from the left with those stats.

Last season he had an absolute stinker no question. No idea what happened to him after that incredible season. Something has gone on for sure. A fall out or personal issues or a combination of both for sure.

As I said I think it's time he probably moved on now as well but where does he even go? Nobody can afford him.

The season before the 30 goal season he scored 5.

Other than the run of 16 goals in 17 games he’s been average at best for most of the last 3+ years.

What is clear is that the players have been poorly coached for the last couple of years and dont seem to be able to play with an identiyable style of play, unlike the Chelsea players today (and the Spurs game a few weeks ago) the United players dont really have a Soooby as what to do when they we are in possession and also when when we lose it (which we do all too often). Nacho has regressed in recent months alarmingly with his decision making and ist halgf a s good as he was when he first broke into the first team. Hes still out most exciting, attacking player and hopefully the new manager and his staff can restore him and other payes back on the road again in their progression. Fack knows WTF Ten Hag has been doing with these player every day at Carrington for the last 2 years. Should have been sacked ages ago.

Yeah sorry you're right. It was the yeah before. He had back issues the season I was thinking about. He missed a lot of football didn't he?

That's still two seasons in 3 though. Not sure our other forwards have that in their lockers. That was the point.
For whatever reason though that player seems to have gone again.

I do get your point but mine is that he’s been poor for more than 2 out of the last 3 seasons and hasn’t set the world on fire this season either.

The longer it goes the less likely he is to find something like his best again.

You've never really like him as a player though tbf. The issue with Rashford is that his ceiling is the highest out of our forwards but his floor could be the lowest too. There's very little in-between with him and that's the issue.

People get on hi back so much because they know he's capable of so much better. If people didn't think he could they'd not bother giving him stick all the time.

I don't think Rashford or Garnacho would be anywhere near the great United teams of the past. We have fallen a long long way.

The season he scored 30 goals was I believe the most shots in all competitions by any player so he was just getting tons of shooting chances every game.😂 It was never gonna last as he was taking shots similar to Ronaldo and Messi when they scored 60+ goals lol.

I think this was right near the end of the game and I was screaming at nacho to pass the ball but he just facked it up again.

I wonder whether the fallout between Ten Hag and Sancho had any affect on Rashford? Aren't they bezzy mates? Did he fallout with ETH as a result? P1ss poor from him if he did.

Have a soft spot for Rashford, always have since his academy days. I've always given him the benefit of the doubt and argued his cause, but I feel he peaked a while ago and will never reach what should've been his full potential. Another casualty of the way the club was managed and run.

And talking of Sancho, should he be brought back to United by Amorim??
